In case you’ve been taking an extra long nap this week after that
U.S. Presidential debate (and we wouldn’t blame you FWIW), you might have slept on BTS in residence at
The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon (weeknights at 11:35pET on CTV2). Taking up res since Monday, they’ve been performing different songs every night, but on Wednesday, they joined Jimmy for one of his patented games. Because of physical distancing measures, they couldn’t smash eggs on each other’s foreheads or play "Win, Lose, or Draw," so the BTS boys did what they do best: they danced. In a challenge called "Dance Your Feelings," Jimmy went head-to-head with the superb-seven, who are renowned for their
lightness of foot and moves like Jagger, to portray odd emotions through creative interpretive dances. No, we’re not just talking about “happy” or “sad,” Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, Jungkook had to whip up fire jigs and fancy two-steps to, “Your jacket getting stuck in a car door,” and “Accidentally taking a sip of someone else’s drink” (a literal COVID nightmare). We’re not going to tell Jimmy Fallon those aren’t actually emotions because the BTS baes TURNT UP.
They even somehow roped Jimmy into sparring with them on the dancefloor (from a safe second studio since the boys are
quarantining together), and even though Jimmy could clearly cut a rug, the boys eventually voted him out, and Jin was the ultimate winner of the competition. Sorry J-Hope, you were 100% robbed![video_embed id='2047458']RELATED: Breaking down the business of BTS, from merchandise to viral videos [/video_embed]On top of the dance battles, the boyband also
sat down for a chat with Jimmy about their hopes for the future of the supergroup. “The Grammy’s is definitely the most honourable music award that evaluates the prominence and musical odyssey of an artist,” RM said. “So we all grew up watching the Grammy awards and we especially remember the 2009 one with the suits—T.I., Jay-Z, M.I.A., we just watched all of it. So doing a BTS solo performance with our own song and winning the Grammys are kind of like our ultimate goal, and also a dream that has naturally grown inside us.”"Winning a Grammy in such difficult times could give greater hope and dreams to a lot of people," he continued. "Especially our ARMY and Jimmy."[video_embed id='2046220']RELATED: How BTS fans are creating a movement for good [/video_embed]If playing games and an interview weren’t enough, the KPop boos also performed “
Black Swan” off their album “Map of the Soul: 7” that *checks notes* also came out this year, the same year as “Dynamite.” Are these guys a band or a bop-making machine?!No wonder wrestler/actor/author John Cena, who was a guest on the show earlier in the week, gushed about his status as a BTS-stan. “When I started to look at BTS and listen to the music, I was originally drawn because there are rappers in that crew,” he said
on Tuesday night. “And they use, in some of their intro tracks and bookend tracks, they use sick-ass boom-bap beats and they actually rap. So, I got interested in the music and then I got interested in what the music stood for. They advocate self-love, they advocate ‘Don’t be afraid of failure,’ they advocate ‘You are enough.’”Hear that boys? If you ever lose a dance battle, John Cena will take care of those judges. We think that's what he said.Watch
