Iiiiit’s alllll right, because we’re Saved By The Bell, again. The huge 80s-90s hit TV show is back and like Star Trek or Degrassi, it’s reimagined for the next generation. Peacock dropped a teaser trailer this morning, announcing that the next gen series will premiere on Wednesday, November 25th. Peacock were careful not to call this a “continuation” or a “revival” of the original juggernaut that launched the careers of Mark Paul Gosselaar, Mario Lopez, Elizabeth Berkley, Tiffani Amber Thiessen, and, uh, Screech  Dustin Diamond, because this is an entirely new premise with some familiar faces!Peacock, the NBC Universal streaming service, describes the highly anticipated reimagining of the show as such: “In the new series, when California governor Zack Morris gets into hot water for closing too many underfunded high schools, he proposes they send the affected students to the most well-funded schools in the state – including Bayside High. The influx of new students gives the privileged Bayside kids (who never have a problem that can't be solved in twenty-two minutes) a much-needed dose of reality.”
We already know that Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley Lauren will reprise their roles as AC Slater and Jessie Spano, but – time out! -  Mark Paul Gosselaar and Tiffani Thiessen will also guest star as Zack Morris and Kelly Kapowski, respectively.Looking at the teaser that dropped earlier this year, we are totally feeling this new vibe. No studio audience. Smarter dialogue. Cleverer jokes. Consider us hoooooked. When looking at the new additions to the show, it seems the characters Zack and Jessie have each had children of their own. Belmont Cameli will play the character Jamie Spano and Mitchell Hoog is playing Mac Morris. Hmmmm. The rest of the new cast includes John Michael Higgens as Principal Toddman, Dexter Darden as Devante, Alycia Pascual-Peña as Aisha, Josie Totah as Lexi, and Haskiri Velazquez as Daisy. On top of the cast switch-ups, it seems that the new show will poke fun at the old show a bit. In one scene, Jessie will warn the new Bayside students about the dangers of caffeine pills (who could forget “I’m so excited! I’M . . . SO . . . SCARED!”). The famous “time-out” trick that Zack Morris used to control to speak directly to the audience will no longer be within his reach. And AC Slater, who was once the star athlete, is now the gym teacher.Okay, this we have to see.[video_embed id='2044336']BEFORE YOU GO: This hilarious TikTok sums up 2020 perfectly[/video_embed]
