It’s been two weeks since the last episode of World of Dance (Tuesdays at 10 pm ET on CTV) and the dancers this season are continuing to progress in leaps and bounds and pops and locks. The Duels for the dancers in the Upper Division concluded on Tuesday and gave judges Jennifer Lopez, Derek Hough and Ne-Yo a lot to get excited about and get really, really angry about. When the judges say leave it on the floor, they aren’t kidding.Guest judge tWitch returned and continued to hold the key to the Redemption Round. The professional dancer was tasked with picking two eliminated acts from each division and he gave two ousted groups in the Upper Division a second chance at the semi-finals. Ballet duo Styles and Emma and dance crew Oxygen got the opportunity yo live another day on World of Dance.[video_embed id='1966249']RELATED: Derek Hough’s latest project is all about inspiring kids to move in new ways[/video_embed]

JAKE AND CHAU VS. JOSH AND ERICA

Jake and Chau gave one of the most innovative performances of the season with their contemporary routine. The athletic dancers gave a masterclass in lifts and flips, continually wowing the judges and building excitement throughout their routine. Because the pair are so strong and so evenly matched, their small mishaps, including a side-by-side jump that wasn’t in sync, stood out more so than it would have in a routine that wasn’t as strong. They’re too good?On the other side of the creative coin were Josh and Erica, who caused a communal butt clenching on the dais when the pair revealed they were attaching themselves to one another using overalls. The degree of difficulty was extremely high but the couple pulled it off, bringing out the creepy and cool vibe of Billie Eilish’s “Bury A Friend.” Amazingly, no one was accidentally smacked in the face with a buckle and the judges, and everyone watching at home, could finally relax. The overalls did limit the pair in what they were able to do with the routine, but it also proved they were true innovators.WINNER: Jake and Chau

GEOMETRIE VARIABLE VS OXYGEN

After their first performance wowed the judges, it was unclear whether Geometrie Variable could sustain the momentum of their artistic vision and bring new elements with a second routine. The Spirographs of dance made it clear on Tuesday night they could. There’s precision and then there’s Geometrie Variable, whose performance raised the bar of this season’s competition. The trio received high fives from Ne-Yo, who said he spent the entire routine looking for moments to critique and found none; even their "chin-ography" was on point. tWitch said the group made him proud to be a dancer and JLo and Derek said they were blown away by the group’s creativity.Oxygen had one of the best auditions this season, but they took a risk by changing up their style for the Duels and it didn’t pay off. The group dropped their Shiva-inspired formations and instead went for a funky locking routine, complete with costumes that appeared to be inspired by The Wiggles. (It wasn’t a great look.) The group displayed the same precision of their previous performance and added a big dose of energy, but it was missing the creativity and magic of their audition.WINNER: Geometrie Variable

REDEMPTION ROUND: STYLES AND EMMA VS. OXYGEN

Battling for the final spot in the semi finals was ballet duo Styles and Emma and Dutch dance crew Oxygen. Both groups delivered performances that were significantly stronger than their first showings in the Duels, so much so that Derek admitted he was slightly infuriated and questioned why the groups didn’t perform these routines first. Good question. What wasn’t in question was whether Oxygen should move forward. The group once again delivered the magic of their audition and this time their slightly silly costumes actually looked cool during the routine. Again, magic.
