While some of us are coping with self-isolation by bingeing the latest buzzy series (which is totally fine, BTW), others have hit the "learning as much as I can" stage of quarantine. Shailene Woodley is decidedly in that camp right now. Her biggest intellectual goal is to finally learn Spanish, but she's also got a lofty physical one.“I am determined to get my handstand down,”
The Fault in Our Stars actress told Jimmy Fallon via video-chat on the at-home edition of
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on CTV). “I know it’s
such a thing right now, Jimmy. Everyone on Instagram—all these fitspo people can do handstands, and they look cool, I’m kind of jealous! I’m really jealous that so many people can do a handstand and I can’t.” Ah yes, handstands. Simple. Classic. Difficult AF. But hey, she's going to have a lot of time to practice.Shailene adds that she's been working hard at it and then suggests the two of them try to do handstands together. This is either a recipe for disaster or for some adorable yoga-centric bonding.
Luckily, Jimmy no longer has to wear suits to work and he was already in comfy sweats as Shailene talked him through how to kick his legs up against a wall to master the gymnastic move. Shailene took a few tries to get it down, but as she (and many others) said, "If you fall, try again." Jimmy on the other hand, shocked us all by getting into position on what was apparently his FIRST attempt. If we're being picky, it was more of a
headstand than a
handstand, but Shailene gave him kudos nonetheless.“How are you good at this too? Can you just not be good at one thing?!” she joked. We had the same question. Shailene herself seems to be of the philosophy that one should always be trying new things. She also explained that she's been trying to learn how to rollerblade... indoors.[video_embed id='1948289']RELATED: Kate Hudson reveals Jimmy Fallon was crushing on her[/video_embed]“The way that I know how to stop right now is if you’re in your house—which you shouldn’t really be, but it’s quarantine—I just jump on my couch to stop or if I’m outside, I’ll just dive into some grass.” Somebody get this lady a crash mat and some knee pads! All these physical activities actually sound like they’re much needed moments of joy for the actress, who
recently revealed that she was suffering from an unnamed illness in her 20s that forced her out of acting for a time. We love to see her like this.Watch
