TV and film production might not be back up to 100 per cent just yet, but that hasn’t stopped the powers-that-be from making some pretty big plans. And as it turns out, at least one of those plans include
Saturday Night Live star Michael Che. The comedian has landed a deal to star in his own six-part sketch comedy on HBO Max, and now he—like the rest of Hollywood—is waiting to get into production. Each episode of the untitled series will revolve around a timely topic: police brutality, unemployment or even falling in love. Then, through a series of vignettes and sketches Che and his (TBD) cast of characters will highlight those experiences from a Black perspective, according to TVLine. “It’s less about being ‘right’ and more about being honest, even at the risk of being controversial,”
the logline reads.“I’m really excited to be working on this show with HBO Max,” Che said in a statement. “It’s a project I’ve been thinking about for a while and we have a lot of sketches we want to shoot, so please wear your masks so that we can go into production.”
