Break out your best toosie slides and prepare to dab it up, because Bachelor and Bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe is finally getting the chance to get her twinkle toes on. The Canadian reality star has been confirmed as one of the participants on the upcoming 29th season of Dancing With the Stars, something she’s been dreaming of for a long time.On June 15, Bristowe appeared via video chat on ABC’s summer lookback series, The Bachelor: the Greatest Seasons Ever. There, along with host Chris Harrison, she looked back at all of her memorable moments as the lead on the 11th season of The Bachelorette. But things took a twist towards the end when Harrison asked Bristowe’s current boyfriend, Bachelor alum Jason Tartick, to join them and revealed there was one final surprise in store. While fans (and Bristowe!) thought Tartick might be proposing, it turns out Bristowe received a whole other kind of proposal: an invitation to join the new season of DWTS. "By the way, I know you mentioned meeting your future wife... you know I'm an ordained minister," Harrison said, leading Bristowe on. “Oh my gosh. Don't even do this. My stomach just sank because I was like wait is this happening right now?" she responded. Harrison then got down to the real business at hand. "In all seriousness, I do have a real question for you Kaitlyn. This is a question I'm so excited to ask you because, well, your life is about to change… Kaitlyn, will you be on the next season of Dancing with the Stars?Naturally Bristowe freaked out, especially since she’s spoken out in the past about wanting to join the series. “Play it cool Kaitlyn, play it cool!” she told herself. “Are you serious? Chris! I'm shaking... I feel like this is back to the moment where you told me I was the Bachelorette. That is the last thing in the world I thought you were going to say," she said. "Is that a yes?" Harrison asked. "Yes yes! I'm so honoured to say yes," Bristowe confirmed.[video_embed id='1977727']RELATED: Will the casting of the first Black Bachelor create meaningful change? [/video_embed]Bristowe, a fan favourite in the Bachelor franchise, previously revealed that her contract on the series didn’t allow her to participate on DWTS, even though they reportedly asked in the past. She got frank about it last year during an interview with Nikki Glaser on her Talkhouse Podcast, revealing that Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss blocked her from donning those sparkly dance costumes.“They won’t let me [go on the show], ever,” Bristowe said at the time. “I’ll tell you exactly why I can’t go on Dancing with the Stars. Anybody that listens to this podcast knows why I cannot go on Dancing with the Stars. And it’s because, and I will say this with a mic in my hand and a smile on face, that Mike Fleiss is a piece of s---. He is the creator of The Bachelor, and he hates women.” Fleiss has since denied the claims in interviews and on social media, and ABC has refused to comment, according to Variety. Whether it was all a big miscommunication or Fleiss finally backed down, it sure seems like Bristowe—a former pro dancer—is already celebrating… or is that training?

Bristowe will be the second Bachelorette star in a row to appear on DWTS—Hannah Brown won last year’s edition with her dance partner Alan Bersten. Could there be two Bachelorette winners in a row? Time will tell. How much time fans will have to wait to see new episodes is a whole other matter though. Although the celebrity dance competition typically kicks off in September, the powers that be have yet to announce filming plans given the current coronavirus pandemic.[video_embed id='-1']BEFORE YOU GO: Watch this majestic kitty catch treats with its paws [/video_embed]
