It’s an Ocean’s reunion . . . sort of. Last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Jimmy was interviewing 10-year-old viral sensation, Daniel Ranieri, whose appearance on his talk show last year prompted Oscar-winning actor/director George Clooney to cast him in his latest film, The Tender Bar.
George decided to join in on the expletive-laden laughfest (that kid loves to cuss!) and popped up via video chat, direct from Australia on the set of his latest film, Ticket to Paradise.
Suddenly, to the surprise of everyone, the camera panned to the left to reveal a very stern and unamused Julia Roberts. Those dark shades and slicked-back hair spell trouble.
“Oh my goodness, wow. Holy moly,” Jimmy exclaimed, to which Julia said... nothing. It appeared as if George was unaware that his movie-wife was next to him. In fact, when Jimmy cautioned, “George, I don't know if you're aware of this, but there's a woman sitting next to you," George looked around and couldn’t find her.
Then just as quickly as she appeared, she was gone, without a word or even a flash of her million-dollar smile.
Once she was out of frame, Jimmy giggled, “Maybe I hallucinated that. It looked like Julia Roberts though."
Hm. Maybe.
The interview continued, with a lot of swearing on the part of George and Daniel, who cussed out Jimmy for taking his time gifting the 10-year-old with a PS5 and the gift cards to buy some games.
Daniel is still a kid though, which was very apparent when he revealed he gifted George a T-shirt and socks from Marshalls after The Tender Bar wrapped. That's a "purchased-the-night-before-the-last-day-of-school teacher gift" if we ever saw one.
Daniel could hold his own though, and when asked to choose his favourite Batman actor between his two Tender Bar co-stars George or Ben Affleck, Daniel deadpanned; “Christian Bale.”
“Guess who's not going to be in The Tender Bar 2!" said Jimmy.
Almost exactly a year ago, Daniel’s home video about the lockdown, where he swears up a storm, went viral, and he appeared via video-chat on Jimmy’s show to prove that he is in fact NOT the reincarnation of Joe Pesci (who’s still alive). He swore live on Jimmy’s show, and melted everyone’s hearts. As you do.
We predict a long career for this kid.
