New Instagram user Jennifer Aniston (and, you know, overall superstar) broke all the Insta-records for the fastest account to hit 1 million fans with her
Friends cast picture this week (which sent our hopes soaring for a reunion—they’re not broken up, they’re just ON A BREAK). But after years of us having to hashtag her name rather than tag her, why is she suddenly so gung-ho to "do it for the gram?"“I don’t know!” she admitted last night on
Jimmy Kimmel Live! “I’m just trying to build content, as they say.” A hint that perhaps more juicy photos and behind-the-scenes tidbits are heading for our iPhones soon? When Kimmel joked that she should just post
Friends reunion pictures over and over again, Jen seemed to balk at the idea; “But then you’ll start to lose your followers!”Jen, we’re pretty sure you could post a blank picture with no caption and you would get 10 million likes (and possibly earn
another Guinness World Record). She did confirm, however that she's been expertly "banking content, baby" including a photo with her idol and muse for her new series,
The Morning Show, Diane Sawyer.
If Jennifer seems to be an Insta expert right out the gate, it's only because she's not actually new to the platform. In an effort to understand the ‘gram better, Jen revealed that for a time she operated a fake Insta. “It was a stalker account,” she said, raising a cryptic eyebrow. “When I was thinking about doing this, I figured it was time to sort of understand the world so I might dip my toe into the social media pool.”“You know,” Kimmel interjected, “the kids will call that a Finstagram, which is short for Fake-Instagram.”In this particular case, we would have gone with Anistagram, but sure Jimmy. The IG talk didn't stop there. Seeing as how the world, including Jimmy, is now obsessed with her account, Kimmel capped off the interview with a test of Jen’s emoji knowledge in a game called Emojeopardy. Jennifer was tasked with decoding a series of emojis depicting her most famous film and TV credits. The segment saw her breezing through easy emojis of
Friends, and her films
Marley & Me and
Cake, but it was almost as if she forgot she was even in
Office Space or
The Break-Up (who can forget
The Break-Up!?). Nevertheless, Kimmel gifted her a box of poop-emoji pillows and best wishes for her future ‘grams. And now we wait for her next Internet-smashing post . . .[video_embed id='-1']RELATED: Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon explore the ‘surprising’ side of morning TV[/video_embed]
