Some things from the early 2000s are better left behind in that period—super low-rise jeans, butterfly clips, and the skirts-on-top-of-pants phenomenon, to name a few. Others, like our girl Lizzie McGuire, are a welcome sight as we approach the start of a new decade. After two seasons and an epic feature film boasting an unforgettable pop soundtrack ('What Dreams Are Made Of' still goes hard, let's be real), many of us assumed the days of Lizzie, Gordo, and Miranda were a thing of the past. However, with this seemingly being the year of classic TV reboots, Lizzie McGuire is slated for a revival—and on Wednesday, it was confirmed that Adam Lamberg is set to reprise his role as everyone’s favourite sarcastic (and not-so-secretly-in-love-with-Lizzie) best friend, Gordo. The news is sure to hit a high note with O.G. Lizzie fans, and opens up a brand new set of questions (and possibilities) for the revival's plot. Are Lizzie and Gordo still friends? Will they ever be more? Either way, Hilary Duff seems just as stoked as we are about the news.

So, what’s in store for a 2020 version of our beloved tween series? Well, the revival is set to pick up as Lizzie reaches the milestone of her 30th birthday. Naturally, she seems to be leading a pretty cool life, living in New York City while working as an assistant to an interior designer. Much like the original series, the show will follow Lizzie (and her animated alter-ego) as she navigates the trials and tribulations of life—only this time, as an adult, and honestly, we can already relate.Joining Duff and Lamberg in the revival are Hallie Todd, returning as Jo McGuire, Robert Carradine as Sam McGuire, and Jake Thomas as Lizzie's brother Matt. Just look at this updated family portrait… this is what 90’s kid’s dreams are made of:

In typical (hilarious) little brother fashion, Thomas had to have the last word. Responding to the news of Lamberg’s return, Thomas posted this to TikTok on Wednesday: Duff is also taking on a dual role this time around, serving as an executive producer on the series. With Gordo on board, one question remains: will Lalaine be back as Miranda? In the words of Hilary Duff (and that iconic soundtrack) herself: Why Not?[video_embed id='5672532168001']RELATED: Hilary Duff gets tattoo of famous Bette Davis quote[/video_embed]
