Before we dip deep into the holiday season, we're getting a fresh dose of a bunch of tried and trusted old reliables. We're talking the return of Dexter, brand new, big-budget adaptations of long-time fan favourites Cowboy Bebop and In the Heights, and fresh seasons of Dickinson, The Great, and Star Trek: Discovery. Oh, and Vanessa Hudgens times three. Obviously.

It's the western of our dreams, starring the all-Black cast of Jonathan Majors, Idris Elba, Regina King, Zazie Beetz, Delroy Lindo, Lakeith Stanfield and Edi Gathegi. In this Western, our heroes are cowboys and cowgirls who reunite to take down their gang leader's rival crime boss as he gets released from prison. Find your biggest screen for this one, and don't take your eyes off King. Honestly, good luck even trying.
Watch on Wednesday, November 3 on Netflix.
If Tom Hanks isn't enough of a sell for you – as he always damn well should be – then here's your breakdown: Finch follows America's dad as he attempts to find a new home for himself, his pup and a robot (played by the always weird Caleb Landry Jones) in a world ravaged by a cataclysmic solar event. Think of it as Cast Away, but instead of Wilson the ball, we have Goodyear the dog.

In its final season, this wonderfully feminist series sees Hailee Steinfeld's Emily Dickinson experience family strife during the American Civil War as she desperately hopes her work will save her. If you haven't seen the first two seasons yet, now is the time to catch up.

This might have been the most universally delighting movie of the summer, but if you somehow missed Lin-Manuel Miranda's adaptation of his own stage classic in theatres, the time has come to stream. The movie follows the people of a Washington Heights neighbourhood -- their dreams, their downfalls and all their romantic exploits -- during one very hot summer. It'll have you wanting to dance but definitely shedding a few tears here and there.
Watch on Friday, November 5 on Crave.
Our favourite serial killer is back. We missed you, Michael C. Hall, even if that season finale was a rough one. In this new incarnation, set 10 years after the original series wrapped, Dexter is a new man with a new name in a new town. But with that same old dark passenger. Jennifer Carpenter returns, too. We love a family reunion.
Watch on Sunday, November 7 on Crave.
Bound to be a thought-provoking, gorgeous drama, this Rebecca Hall-directed film has proved controversial well before its release as it follows the story of two biracial women – one who can pass (Ruth Negga), and one who can't (Tessa Thompson) – as their lives begin to passionately intertwine. It was a buzzy awards circuit favourite but we suggest giveing its stunning source material (Nella Larsen's 1929 novel of the same name) a read first.
Watch on Wednesday, November 10 on Netflix.
With high-wattage stars Ryan Reynolds, Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot, this is a movie you won't stop hearing about for some time. If you do decide to actually watch (instead of relying solely on cultural osmosis to learn about it), you're in for an action romp, as Johnson and Reynolds' art thief characters team up to take down their rival, played by Gadot. Sure, why not?
Watch on Thursday, November 11 on Netflix.
Dopesick features one hell of a cast – Michael Keaton, Peter Sarsgaard, Michael Stuhlbarg, Will Poulter, Kaitlyn Dever and Rosario Dawson – with a very big aim: to examine America's opioid crisis, specifically how one company triggered it all. Get your tissues.
Watch on Friday, November 12 on Disney+.
In case you somehow didn't go running to Cineplex to catch it, Shang-Chi is finally hitting streaming. So now you can catch this talented, gorgeous all-Asian cast (featuring Simu Liu, Awkwafina, Benedict Wong, Michelle Yeoh, and Tony Leung) kick ass and offer up some much needed representation in the MCU.

If you were a fan of this podcast, then you know this is a must-see. Based on a shockingly true story, it follows the unusual relationship between psychiatrist Dr. Isaac “Ike” Herschkopf (Paul Rudd) and his longtime patient Martin “Marty” Markowitz (Will Ferrell), as the former begins to encroach on the latter's life to a disturbing degree. The series co-stars the hilarious duo of Kathryn Hahn and Casey Wilson, both of whom are always reason enough to watch just about anything.

This is your oddball pick of the month. A combination of survival epic, psychological horror, and coming-of-age drama, Yellowjackets stars the equally wonderful and weird Juliette Lewis and Christina Ricci – seriously, why aren't these women on our screens more often? – as grown-up plane crash survivors who resorted to some pretty dark depths back when they found themselves stranded. But, of course, the past never really dies, does it?
Watch on Sunday, November 14 on Crave.
The circus that took the world by storm has returned, but Netflix has been pretty tight-lipped about what the sequel to Tiger King will actually be about. Sorry to disappoint you, though, it will definitely not include Carole Baskin (at least, not with her permission).
Watch on Wednesday, November 17 on Netflix.
When Mindy Kaling creates a show, you watch it, that is simply law. Her latest offering looks outrageously funny, as it follows the college years of four diverse roommates at a prestigious New England school and all their messy moments in bed.
Watch on Thursday, November 18 on Crave.
Did you really think Netflix would pass up on a threequel for its beloved, kooky and totally nonsensical Christmas favourite starring Vanessa Hudgens? This one sees her playing triple when Margaret and Stacy enlist the help of their third lookalike, the morally ambiguous Fiona, to track down a stolen priceless royal artifact. Pour it down our throats.
Watch on Thursday, November 18 on Netflix.
This season, Captain Burnham and the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery face a brand new threat. With Federation and non-Federation worlds alike feeling the impact, they must confront the unknown and work together to ensure a hopeful future for all. Stars Sonequa Martin-Green, Anthony Rapp, Wilson Cruz, and all your faves return.

If you're a big fan of the original anime show that inspired this live-action adaptation, you've likely been counting down the days for this premiere. Or you're just thirsty for John Cho. Either way, this space western, which follows intergalactic bounty hunters catching criminals all over the universe, sounds like the most fun you’ll be having watching a screen this month. Yes, please.
Watch on Friday, November 19 on Netflix.
This long-awaited film, which is an adaptation of Rent creator Jonathan Larson’s mostly autobiographical musical, was written by Dear Evan Hansen's Steven Levenson and directed by Hamilton's Lin-Manuel Miranda. It's basically a Broadway musical you can watch at home. It stars Andrew Garfield as a young Larsen dreaming of becoming a Broadway legend while writing what would one day become Rent. Yeah, we say he makes it.
Watch on Friday, November 19 on Netflix.
It's odd that this period comedy managed to slip so under the radar, with stars Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult as Catherine and Emperor Peter III, respectively. This second season sees her rise to power and the endless schemes keeping her at the top. Gillian Anderson (who, it seems, can delightfully play anyone) will co-star as Catherine's mother. Come on, there is no greater sell.
Watch on Saturday, November 20 on Amazon Prime.
If you are one of the five Jeremy Renner fans in the world, I've got news for you: his standalone Marvel series is finally here. The latest entry into Marvel canon has him reprising his role as the famed archer as he teams up with Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld), a young archer hoping to follow in his footsteps. It's all set against a cheesy Christmas backdrop. Adorbs.
Watch on Wednesday, November 24 on Disney.
If you're craving some David Hasselhoff – frankly, who isn't at absolutely all times?! – then you'll be thrilled to hear Knight Rider has made it onto CTV Throwback. Here's the premise if you're new to it: after getting shot in the face, Michael Knight decides to dedicate his life to fighting for justice, and that includes building a super-powered, souped-up Pontiac Trans-Am to guide his journey. Yes, it's ridiculous, but it's also fun, and a very good dad watch. Trust us.
Stream it now on CTV Throwback.
