Video may have killed the radio star, but Carrie Underwood killing it on reality TV is largely the reason her career is where it’s at today. And she’s not about to forget it anytime soon. The crooner celebrated the 15th anniversary of  her American Idol win recently, thanking fans once again for putting her on this wild ride in the first place.“WOW, I cannot believe it’s been 15 years since my @americanidol win!!!” she wrote in response to a fan account that made a tribute video of that special night back in 2005. “It’s been an incredible ride and I couldn’t have made it through without all of you guys!!  THANK YOU so much for this sweet video!!” Underwood was just 22 years old when she beat out runner-up Bo Bice to be named Idol’s fourth-ever champ, winning over a record 500 million voting audience with her final performance of Guy Sebastian’s “Angels Brought Me Here.” At the time she told the Associated Press that, “This is the best night of my life. And it’s going to get better.” Little did she know how right she was.Since her time on the reality show, Underwood has gone on to become one of the most successful artists ever from the series (which also gave us the likes of Kelly Clarkson and Adam Lambert). She's one of the biggest female country stars in North America with 15 number one hits on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. She has also sold more than 65 million albums, been inducted into the Grand Ole Opry and Oklahoma Hall of Fame, has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and boasts seven Grammy Awards. Not too shabby for a former curly-haired wannabe-singer who stood up to Simon Cowell and co., huh?

Of course, considering it's been 15 years, this isn’t the first time Underwood has taken to social media to remember the road that got her here. She also took to Instagram on the 10-year anniversary of her win to share a picture of that night with the caption, “So hard to believe it's been 10 years! I'm forever grateful to American Idol for changing my life!”[video_embed id='1957855']RELATED: Taylor Swift treats fans to the 'The City of Lover' [/video_embed]While she's clearly enjoying looking back, Underwood is also focused on the road ahead. For her, that includes a new four-part reality series called Mike and Carrie: God & Country. The online offering drops May 27 on the YouTube channel “I Am Second” and features Underwood and her husband, former NHL star Mike Fisher, digging into all of the ups and downs of marriage, parenting, and their Christian faith. “Marriage is a giant mirror and it is a magnifying glass too,” Fisher says in the preview. “We just differ… drastically,” Underwood adds. That’s okay though—she's already taught us that Love Wins.[video_embed id='-1']BEFORE YOU GO: A husky and squirrel have become the best of friends [/video_embed]
