Even other country stars had to give it up for Charlie, like Chase Rice who tweeted that Pride’s performance was everything to him.We couldn't be happier for Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, Mr. Charley Pride. Watch the legend's acceptance speech! ❤️ pic.twitter.com/e7KykPNBMA

Watching Charley Pride be so excited and real on the #CMAawards was one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a while. Absolute legend.

Twitter did what Twitter does and amplified that moment to recognize more Black female artists in country music and revel in the appreciation of Black women in a disproportionately white genre. Some of the women Morris mentioned posted their appreciation for the shout out from home.
I just saw the speech and was left breathless. @MarenMorris, that was a very classy move. I'm blown away. Thank you, sincerely. There are SO many artists of color out here waiting to be heard. I hope that all of Country music REALLY heard Maren tonight.

Ohhhh my goodness ?Once again, @MarenMorris has me speechless. Thank you so much for using your platform to shed light on Black women in country music. This is beyond dope?✨ https://t.co/01QWTFGqjT

1. I'm so glad @MarenMorris mentioned Linda Martell in her speech
She is the country music pioneer you've never heard ofShe made history as the first Black woman to perform at Grand Ole Opry...she received a standing ovationSadly, she was driven out of the business by racism https://t.co/qzPnUPoxuh pic.twitter.com/JoAw3HeG7C— Yashar Ali ? I've never heard @IngridAndress but she sounds like an angel. Actually I have heard this song a few weeks ago on the radio and I fell in love with it but I didn't know who sang it. I'm definitely a new fan and look forward to listening to her album now. @CountryMusic #CMAawards

More Hearts Than Mine is a great song but not even close to the best song on Ingrid Andress’ debut album. Do yourself a favor & listen to the whole thing. #CMAawards

Ingrid is doing her part to slow the spread with those gloves. #CMAawards

#CMAawards Some songs last. I get the feeling ( if it isn’t too slow for Country Radio in a few years), this @IngridAndress song will be played for a long time

Loved the string section with @IngridAndress and was she holding back the tears right up until the end? Nicely done! #CMAawards
