A bunch of famous doctors are getting together to support frontline workers

They are the real VIPs right now.

Celebrities are cool and all, but doctors are keeping the world going right now. In an effort to raise awareness for our most crucial medical workers fighting the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, a handful of their famous representatives are getting together for a benefit concert extravaganza. LIVEMEDAID will air Saturday, May 9 on CTV digital properties in support of Doctors Without Borders.The benefit show will run from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET and feature appearances by global science leaders like  Jane Goodall, Dr. David Suzuki, Neil deGrasse Tyson and Dr. Sarah Ives from the Pandemic docuseries, while Discovery's Teddy Wilson will be one of the hosts. They'll be joined by the musical talents of the Barenaked Ladies' Ed Robertson, Earth, Wind & Fire, Jesse Cook, Alex Cuba, Paul Anthony, Bombino, Patrick Watson and more.  The fundraising event will provide insight into the science and research that's been going into battling the pandemic and the collective search for treatment while also promoting global unity and highlighting the more hopeful aspects of the current situation. Funds raised from the benefit will go toward Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and frontline workers combating COVID-19 first-hand around the globe.Ahead of and during the benefit, viewers can donate to the cause and enter to win prizes like exclusive merch or meet-and-greets with one of the hosts.
