Vanessa Hudgens is hosting the MTV Movie & TV Awards for the second year -- she first hosted the MTV Movie & TV Awards: Greatest of All Time special in 2020.
Surprising exactly no one, Spider-Man: No Way Home leads nominations this year with seven to its name including Best Show, Best Performance (Tom Holland), Best Superhero (also Tom Holland), Best Team (Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield & Tobey McGuire) and Best Kiss for Zendaya and Tom Holland. The Batman and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will try to give Spider-Man a run for his superhero money in many of those categories.
In the TV categories, Zendaya is the star again with Euphoria (stream now on Crave) pulling in six nominations including ones for Best Show, Best Performance in a Show (for both Sydney Sweeney and Zendaya) and Best Kiss for Hunter Schafer and Dominic Fike.
In the Unscripted show, RuPaul's Drag Race leads in noms with four, followed by Selling Sunset and Summer House.
You can see the full list of nominees here.
This year, MTV is introducing two interesting new categories to the main show: Best Song and “Here for the Hookup.”
The Best Song nominees include entries from both TV and movies including “Little Star" by Dominic Fike in Euphoria, “Here I Am (Singing My Way Home)” by Jennifer Hudson in Respect and "We Don't Talk About Bruno" from Encanto. The Here for the Hookup category pits the ~sexiest~ TV shows against each other and includes Euphoria, Never Have I Ever, Pam & Tommy, Sex/Life and Sex Lives of College Girls.
In the Unscripted show, you'll see new categories for Best Music Documentary, Best Reality Star, Best Reality Romance and Best Reality Return.
