If you're a fan of The Voice, then you know it's about this time we find out who the battle advisors will be this season.

In a teaser video earlier this week, the show hinted at who fans could expect in the adviser announcement, who include Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Ariana Grande, who will be joining the team for the new season beginning on September 20 on CTV.

After feeding the flames of speculation, The Voice officially announced on Monday, and the advisers are: Camilla Cabello for Team Legend, Jason Aldean for Team Clarkson, Dierks Bentley for Team Shelton and... drum roll... Kristin Chenoweth for Team Grande.

That last one is especially exciting, because, first of all, Chenoweth is a stage legend with one of the greatest voices we have today, and is sure to be an epic match for Grande. Fans had also guessed she might be Grande's battle advisor after the teaser  – her face was blurred and voice distorted in the video, there's no mistaking that pitch.

In that teaser, she noted that “My musical influences range starts with Dolly Parton, Carol Burnett, Madeline Kahn, it goes into Julie Andrews, it goes all the way down to where I sit right now with you, Ariana Grande."

And, after being asked by Grande which species of animal she wishes could speak to? “I was recently at the zoo, and for some reason, the cockatoo responded to me, so it would be the cockatoo.” Yup, the hints were a little on the nose for Broadway fans.

"I am so excited for everyone to meet my battle advisor, my dear friend Kristin Chenoweth," Grande declares in the new video. "I don't have words, you have no idea, she's so incredible and I love her so much."

Giving that love right back, Chenoweth adds, "I love you more, baby. I'm proud to see you teach, your team is kick butt."

In a tweet later, Grande also wrote, "cannot tell you how thankful i am to have shared this with her and to have been able to 'teach' with someone i have learned the absolute most from. my heart is in shambles. we had the most fun. i love my team. i love my Cheno."

The pair, by the way, have known each other for many years, having starred alongside each other in NBC's Hairspray Live in 2016. But they actually first met when Grande was super young and got to meet Chenoweth while she was performing in Wicked.

In June 2020, the star told Us Weekly, "She's my little nugget. I love her so much. ... Her Nana and mom brought her backstage and she goes, ‘I want to be you when I grow up.’ And I was like, you’re so little. She came up to my waist. I felt like Heidi Klum. And then we stayed in touch.”

At the time, she even gifted Grande a wand, and told her to keep it with her because “You’re a princess, you’re a queen and you sing like one.” When they reunited professionally in 2016, Grande brought out that very wand, leaving Chenoweth in tears.
