If you missed the season two premiere episode of The Hills: New Beginnings (stream season one now on Crave) on Wednesday night, you’re going to want to catch up on it. Basically, it began with a Brody Jenner shower scene and only got better from there.
Spencer Pratt wore a Gucci poncho to a COVID-friendly gathering and admitted he’s been eating 4 to 5 chicken pot pies per day during the pandemic. Everyone brought an item to bury at Brody’s house to help let go of the past while burning sage and you guessed it, Spencer buried a chicken pot pie.
Meanwhile, Heidi bought the entire section of pregnancy tests at the pharmacy and Justin Bobby admitted he loves being a nomad… like we all didn’t already realize that before? *scratches head*

The biggest takeaway — besides Audrina going on a date with Rod Stewart’s son — was Brody Jenner and Kaitlynn Carter finally talking about Kaitlynn's rebound relationship following their split. Yes, they mean the Miley Cyrus and Kaitlynn Carter fling that was all over social media after Brody and Kaitlynn announced their separation.
Without mentioning Miley’s name at all, Brody and Kaitlynn dived into the details of what unfolded after they called it quits. The exes, who got married in Indonesia in 2018, enjoyed a dog play date while discussing what led to the end of their relationship.
"I think our relationship ran its course. After we had our split, it was obviously tough for both of us," Brody explained in his confessional. "She got in a relationship with somebody and I didn't find out until I saw it in the press."
"After some time had passed, I realized, 'This is where our lives are going. We're gonna be separated, we're not gonna be together, but let's still be in each other's lives and still maintain a friendship and a love.' And we've been able to do that," he continued.
After Kaitlynn and Brody ended their marriage, which kinda, sorta, probably wasn't legal in the US, she decided to go on vacation with Miley. If you recall, Kaitlynn and Miley were photographed kissing near Lake Como and they were spotted hanging out all over Los Angeles when they returned from Italy.
"The circumstances of what happened after our split catered to that negative sh*t," Brody said to Kaitlynn while their dogs ran around the yard. "The whole lesbian thing was gnarly, because in our entire relationship you never expressed that you had any interest in females whatsoever."
Kaitlynn, who has been very open about her sexual adventures with Brody and other women together during their marriage, was quick to shut that down. "I don't think that's fair or totally true to say," she replied.
"We had some fun, but what I'm saying, yes, but you said to me that you weren't into girls," Brody told her.
Kaitlynn admitted that she had "never just met somebody that I was into" but then Miley came along.
"Right, but it was a shock for me and I think for a lot of people that saw that," Brody told his ex-wife. "It gave them an easy way out to say, 'Oh, she’s just in it for the fame, and in it for the money.'"
It's worth noting that Miley's "Prisoner" featuring Dua Lipa played directly after the discussion.
It looks like The Hills: New Beginnings cameras weren't rolling during Kaitlynn and Miley's short-lived relationship so viewers won't be getting a look at that.
Kaitlynn said that she never imagined going from one "pretty public relationship" into another. "But when [Miley] and I broke up, that was the hardest time of my life, because I was really on my own and in the centre of a lot of attention, and I think being able to rediscover who I am as a person on my own completely just gave me a new outlook on everything," she added.
If you're not going to tune into The Hills: New Beginnings because of Miley's absence, you definitely need to add Spencer's pot pie addiction to the list of reasons why you're watching.
The episode ended with Spencer casually eating a pot pie in bed while Heidi walks in the room wearing lingerie and discusses the need for them to have another baby ASAP.
Spencer Pratt is a whole mood.
