Bachelor Nation may be completely obsessed with the inner workings of Matt James’ current season of The Bachelor right about now (they added five new women, why?!). However show officials are already hammering out details for the next iteration of the franchise, a.k.a. The Bachelorette. And according to some sources, there could be one very big Canadian connection.

While the identity of the next leading lady is being kept under wraps for now, reports have surfaced that the new season will soon begin filming at Alberta’s own Fairmont Jasper Lodge. Reality Steve, a.k.a. the guy who always seems to know all things Bachelor before anyone else, reported the news as a part of his January 26 brief, revealing that the show has booked the entire resort from February 23 to April 29. So far at time of press, no one from ABC, the resort itself, or even Tourism Jasper has confirmed the news.

This wouldn’t be the first time the show has moved out of the famed Bachelor Mansion in order to shoot the series. Following the pandemic the series began moving production to isolated locations in order to allow the cast and crew to remain in a safe bubble for the entire duration of filming. The Clare Crawley/Tayshia Adams season filmed at the La Quinta resort in Palm Springs, Calif., and Matt James’ season filmed at the Nemacolin resort in Farmington, Pa.

So what makes the Jasper Lodge an ideal place for the show to film? Well, there are plenty of picturesque mountain views, for one, given that the hot spot is snuggled next to the shores of Lac Beauvert. There are also plenty of nature-filled paths, a spa, heritage log cabins, and basically all of the things that make those loins fire up in the old romance department.

According to Reality Steve production is expected to kick off in mid-March and will run for nine weeks. That means ABC should announce who the next Bachelorette is pretty soon—otherwise fans may start staking out the area in hopes of more clues. Typically in the past the new leading lady has been revealed during the Bachelor’s After the Final Rose special, and then filming on the new season begins the same week. However the entire cast and crew on the new season will have to isolate for two weeks once they arrive at the resort, which obviously doesn’t jive with the old way of doing things. So this year instead of doing a live special following the Bachelor’s finale, the show will pre-tape a new version of After the Final Rose next month.

As for who could potentially fill the dramatic stilettos occupied by Clare and Tayshia last season? That’s anyone’s guess (Katie seems to be a current frontrunner), but Kelley Flanagan is certainly open to the gig.
