The Pussycat Dolls reunion is officially happening

We’re not sure if it’s the approach of a new decade, but the last few months have been full of surprise reboots and reunion announcements (Friends, Gossip Girl, Lizzie McGuire… need we go on?)—and the good news continues. The Pussycat Dolls, the sultry girl group that dominated our airways and TVs in the mid-2000s, are officially getting back together.Known for their catchy pop hits like “Buttons," "Don't Cha," and (who could forget) "Jai Ho," The Pussycat Dolls were originally founded in 1995 by choreographer Robin Antin as a burlesque group, which later became a music group on 2003. After two studio albums, the ladies announced they were going their separate ways to pursue solo careers in 2010.There have been whispers of a potential reunion for a few months now (because what’s a big reveal without some preliminary media excitement?) and on Monday, X Factor: Celebrity judge Louis Walsh finally spilled the tea we’ve all been waiting for.Appearing on the UK talk show Lorraine, Walsh told the audience that The Pussycat Dolls would be taking the stage for the upcoming X Factor: Celebrity series finale on November 30. Nicole Scherzinger, his fellow judge on the show, was the lead singer of the group—and fans are clearly pretty excited to see her strut her stuff in PCD form, once again.

Following Walsh's announcement, Scherzinger took to Instagram on Wednesday evening to solidify the news with the reveal of a new PCD logo, captioned simply with the hashtag #PCDReunion. In case we still had any doubts, the PCD Instagram is also up and running again—because as we know, nothing's real 'til it's Instagram official.

While we’re taking this trip down memory lane, let’s not forget the last intimate look we got at the girl group we had all come to love (even if we didn't readily admit it). Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for The Next Doll was a behind-the-scenes look at the process of selecting a new singer/dancer for the group. As fans likely remember, the show was chock full of drama, with no shortage of tension between the contestants, some cutthroat auditions, and, on top of everything, very complicated dance moves. Love them or hate them, their quest for the next Doll made for entertaining TV.
