Diane Warren finally releases her own album after 35 years in the music business

You may not have heard of Diane Warren, but you’ve definitely *heard* her. She’s one of the most talented and prolific songwriters in the music industry, and has been for over 35 years. In fact, she’s written big banger hits for all your favourite artists—Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Céline Dion, Justin Bieber, Cher, NSYNC, Aerosmith, Mandy Moore, Brandy, Barbra Streisand, LeAnn Rimes, Whitney Houston... the list just goes on and on. Chances are she’s written your favourite pop tune, and now she’s finally going to put out her own album under her own name.While Warren still won’t be singing her own songs, the best part of this new album is that it will feature some of the biggest vocalists of our generation. Diane Warren: The Cave Sessions Vol. 1 will feature the vocal stylings of *checks notes* John Legend, Céline Dion, Mary J. Blige, Jason Derulo, Ty Dolla $ign, Darius Rucker, Jhené Aiko and LP.“Just call me DJ Diane!” she said on Instagram Wednesday as she announced the new album. We hope there’s a DJ Diane remix of her top tunes “Because You Loved Me,” and “I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing.” That track would slaaaaaaap.

Warren's IG caption noted that the new album, “is more than just a collection, but a perfect way to show the range of my songwriting by some of the most exceptional artists of our time that I have the honour to work with. For every song, there is a story, and I can’t wait to share them.”The first single off the album, dropping November 10^th, will be the song “Times Like This” and will feature Darius Rucker.[video_embed id='1896019']RELATED: Diane Warren was surprised by Chrissy Metz's singing chops [/video_embed]In a statement to Variety about the announcement Warren said: “I am writing new songs all the time, and I really think I’m writing my best songs right now […] A lot of people have done this kind of project—Mark Ronson or Calvin Harris or DJ Khaled—but no one who is just a songwriter has. So why not me? I thought it would be a chance to work with artists I love and other artists I want to work with, and create a cool body of work that shows the diversity of what I do.”

This new album arrives on the tail end of a very exciting 2020 for Warren. She started it off with a Best Original Song Oscar nomination for "I'm Standing With You," sung by Chrissy Metz for the film Breakthrough.
