Who is hosting the 2022 Billboard Music Awards?

Sean “Diddy'' Combs will host the 2022 Billboard Music Awards exactly 25 years after he won his first Billboard Music Award in 1997 (for his multi-platinum album No Way Out). In addition to hosting, Diddy will also executive produce the evening. He apparently has "several surprises planned." 

Who is performing at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards? 

The BBMAs have a superstar multi-generational lineup set to celebrate all aspects of music.

Becky G, Ed Sheeran, Elle King & Miranda Lambert, Travis Scott, Burna Boy, Latto, Megan Thee Stallion, Rauw Alejandro, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Florence + The Machine, Maxwell, Silk Sonic and Morgan Wallen (who hasn't performed on a stage this big since being dropped from several platforms for using a racist slur) are all set to perform.

Travis Scott's performance will be his first since his Astroworld Festival performance where 10 people were killed and more were injured. Host and producer Diddy said that he made a "demand" that Scott perform, adding, "There will be no canceling. Love is about forgiveness… so that was why it was important for me to have Travis Scott perform. It’s going to be a great night."

Mary J. Blige will also take the stage to showcase her decades of undeniable talent in honour of her Billboard Icon Award.

Who's nominated for the 2022 Billboard Music Awards? 

The Weeknd leads this year's awards as a finalist in 17 categories and Doja Cat is the leading female finalist with 14 categories including Top Artist, Top Female Artist, and Top Hot 100 Artist. First-time finalist Olivia Rodrigo has placed in 13 categories and Drake (who holds the record for most Billboard Music Award wins with 29) is up for 11 categories.

Taylor Swift -- the female artist with the most wins at 25 -- is a finalist in 7 categories which gives her the chance to surpass Drake as the most decorated Billboard artist of all time.
