If you have plans for September 25, you may want to cancel them. That’s because Global Citizen has announced its biggest concert yet, and there are dozens of notable performers and musicians taking the stage.

The 24-hour concert goes down across six continents and so far includes names like The Weeknd, Billie Eilish, BTS, Metallica, Doja Cat, Lizzo, Lorde, H.E.R., Demi Lovato, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello. That’s just the start of performers set to participate in the event, however.

Fans can also watch for talent like Duran Duran, Keith Urban, Andrea Bocelli, Green Day, Coldplay, Adam Lambert, Usher, Lang Lang, Burna Boy, Femi Kuti, the Lumineers, Christine and the Queens, Angélique Kidjo, Ricky Martin, Alessia Cara, Rag’n’Bone Man, DJ Snake, Davido, Tiwa Savage and Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness.

More artists are expected to join the already packed lineup when the second wave of performers is announced on August 6. But what’s perhaps even more impressive is that the concert is going to be mostly live with audiences from many of its broadcast points, including New York’s Central Park, Seoul, and the Champ de Mars in Paris.

“There’s going to be live audiences all around the world,” Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans revealed to Variety. “This is not like what we did last year; this is live-live. This is the whole world, literally and physically tens or hundreds of thousands of people coming together for this moment. This is the biggest thing we’ve ever done by far.”

According to the CEO the concert has been designed to help raise corporate funds and awareness for poverty, climate change and international vaccine inequality. As always Global Citizen isn’t targeting viewers for donations, but rather global leaders and those in privileged positions.

“When you see billionaires flying into space this week, I think it’s starkly contrasted against this urgent need when you’ve got 41 million people on the brink of starvation right now,” said Evans.

Fans can catch all of the action on a live broadcast feed, which will be picked up by several different networks and social media platforms around the world. In North America, Disney and ABC, as well as iHeartRadio, are committed to broadcasting segments, although full details won’t be released until August 3.

For those who need a refresher, Global Citizen is an organization aimed at ending poverty around the world by 2030. The organization has been doing yearly festivals since 2012, however during the pandemic it became known for at-home concerts like the curated event, One World: Together at Home, with Lady Gaga.

In May, the organization also put together Vax Live, a show that went down in front of a live studio audience. The two-hour show featured half a dozen performers including Jennifer Lopez and the Foo Fighters.

“Ultimately, this feels like something that we’ve been spending the last 10 years as an organization gearing up for,” Evans continued to Variety. “Because I think you have one opportunity to try to bring the whole world together as one, and this September is our generation’s moment to do just that.”
