Normani and Cardi B have a ‘WAP’ reunion in ‘Wild Side’ music video

Normani’s music video for “Wild Side” dropped early this morning and the sexy song has even sexier visuals. From lounging in a glass helicopter, and striking a pose on vermilion sofas, to lying in a ring and scissoring *checks notes* herself (you read that right), the stunning video features a plethora of set and costume changes to keep you guessing.
“Take me for a ride, boy/Show me your wild side, boy/Know it’s been a while, boy/I wanna get wild,” is Normani's refrain in the downtempo R&B hook, eating it up and leaving no crumbs. There is a very strong '90s-Aaliyah vibe here, and we can’t get enough.
Right when you think things couldn’t possibly get more sumptuous and suggestive, Cardi B shows up completely in the buff, holding Normani (who is also au naturelle) in her arms for a juicy AF rap verse that lays it all bare.
“Treat me like a watch/bust me down,” she raps on her verse. “On the kitchen floor, right on that towel/It’s my d**k and I want it now. Tell me how you want. Put me on my back, on my stomach. Baby let me blow it like a trumpet!”
Purposefully giving heart attacks like this should be illegal, sis.
Directed by Tanu Muino (who also directed Cardi’s “UP” video), and choreographed by Sean Bankhead, Cardi’s feature on the song marks a reunion of sorts, as Normani made a cameo last year in Cardi and Megan Thee Stallion’s famous (or infamous, depending on who you are) “WAP” music video alongside Kylie Jenner.
“I had already been in rehearsal for about three weeks preparing for the video when Cardi heard the record for the first time,” Normani said in a statement. “She really showed up for me and brought this record to life by simply doing what Cardi does best. I love that woman down and I’m forever grateful.”
Cardi recently revealed she’s pregnant with her second child, although there’s no hint of a baby bump in this vid. Normani looks like pure fire in every costume change (there are a LOT), although our favourite has to the barely-there white feather look (which she also danced in? How did it stay on?? Tell us your secret!).
