Ahead of the January ceremony, Chair and Interim Recording Academy President/CEO Harvey Mason Jr. will announce the 2021 nominees Tuesday, joined by past Grammy winners, nominees and hopefuls from their remote locations across the country, including Imogen Heap, Dua Lipa, Mexican singer-songwriter Pepe Aguilar, Nigerian Afropop singer Yemi Alade, classical violinist Nicola Benedetti, and more.
Last year the Recording Academy shifted the eligibility window so the upcoming awards show will only recognize music released from September 1, 2019, to August 31, 2020, which meant that Harry Styles could get his "Watermelon Sugar" nom but our beloved "WAP" won't get the recognition it deserves until next year (sorry Cardi and Megan).

Beyoncé leads the nominees (surprise, surprise) and her nine noms this year put her at 79 total in her career, tying her with Paul McCartney for second-most nominated person in Grammy Awards history. The honour of most-nominated? That's a tie as well and it happens to be between Mr. Beyoncé himself (AKA Jay-Z) and Quincy Jones. Coming in behind Bey this year are Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa and Roddy Ricch who all have six nominations each.Shockingly, The Weeknd isn't nominated at all just two days after his 2020 AMAs high, where he led nominations and swept the Soul/R&B categories.
Several major categories are expected to be announced during the live stream, and the complete list of all 84 categories will be live on the Recording Academy's website.See who else made the cut for this year’s awards with the live updates of nominees below.
