Jann Arden is the first Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductee of the new year. The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) made the announcement on January 14 when they also confirmed that Arden will perform at the 2020 JUNO Awards on Sunday, March 15 at the SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.Arden released a statement about her inclusion in the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, saying, “I am so honoured to be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. I've spent my career creating and performing music that I hoped would resonate with others. I feel incredibly humbled to be recognized with this award and to join such an esteemed group of past honourees whose art has helped connect us to one another as Canadians."
Arden is no stranger to the JUNO Awards. The multi-talented singer-songwriter hosted the show in 1997 and returned as co-hosted in 2016 along with Canadian Olympic skier Jon Montgomery. Feeding My Mother, with chronicled the singer’s years caring for her mother after she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.Known for her honest opinions and comedic timing, Arden has been a staple on Canadian TV. She is a frequent guest host on CTV’s daily show
The Social and appeared several times on longtime friend Rick Mercer’s weekly show
