No one rocks harder than Death himself—that is, when he isn’t doing hopscotch or playing tetherball (it’s lonely in hell). So it’s nice to know that the Grim Reaper has once again made himself available to help Bill S. Preston Esq. (Alex Winter) and Ted "Theodore" Logan (Keanu Reeves) of Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and Bogus Journey fame rock harder than they ever have, all in an eleventh-hour attempt to save reality as we know it.In the second trailer for Bill & Ted Face The Music, which premiered during Comic-Con 2020 where the cast will participate in a panel on July 25 hosted by Kevin Smith, actor William Sadler returns to the role of Death Incarnate (fans of the franchise will remember him as the ghoulish scene-stealer in Bogus Journey) to assist the Wyld Stallyns in their efforts to write and perform the song that will save the world—aka fulfill their long-foretold destiny. But Bill and Ted are older now. Their air guitar skills aren’t as tight as they used to be. They’ve got marital problems to deal with plus the fact that neither one of them appears to have ever held down a real job. How are they going to write the best song of all time in a single day with that kind of work ethic?
The answer is obvious: telephone booth time travel. If Doctor Who can still do it in a police box, why not Bill and Ted? In this latest clip, the two lifelong friends hatch a plan to travel to the future and steal the song from themselves. Genius. The journey takes them to hell, prison, guitar heaven, and back again when their daughters Billie and Thea step in to assist (taking poor Kid Cudi down with them)."They're trying to help their dads to pull this off their own sort of eccentric way,” explained director Dean Parisot in a December 2019 interview with USA Today. “It's fun because it escalates and gets crazier and eventually all time and space is coming unglued."[video_embed id='5982209160001']RELATED: Sandra Bullock reveals what she thought of 'Speed' co-star Keanu Reeves [/video_embed]Speaking of time and space becoming unglued, Bill & Ted Face The Music was scheduled for an August 28 theatrical debut but COVID put a stop to those plans. The third movie in the Bill & Ted franchise will now premiere on September 1 in VOD format (with a possible concurrent theatre run, virus-willing).[video_embed id='2000508']BEFORE YOU GO: Donald Glover could be coming back for more ‘Star Wars’ [/video_embed]
