Break out the mankinis, Borat might be about to return to the big screen (and/or your laptop screen). In some just-released, blessedly upbeat movie news, it’s been revealed that Sacha Baron Cohen will not only return as the world’s favourite fictional Kazakh journalist but that the follow-up film to the 2006 comedy Borat! Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan has already been filmed — in secret.Film blog Collider is laying claim to an exclusive report that Cohen is basically ready to drop his Borat sequel, having gone to work under the radar to film the movie during lockdown. They even say that Cohen has shown the finished (or near-finished) project to certain high level showbiz types in Hollywood (who were probably anxious to see it, considering the fact that the original film made more than $262 million worldwide on a budget of just $18 million).[video_embed id='5655139338001']RELATED: Sacha Baron Cohen Offers to Pay Fines For Arrested 'Mankini' Borat Impersonators[/video_embed]Further evidence that Borat is back comes via this fan video that captured Cohen in character and behind the wheel of a vintage-looking yellow pickup truck, casually cruising the streets of Los Angeles last month (where casually = plugged into a massive camera truck).Additional reports claim that the comedian was also seen — in disguise naturally —  at an event held by a right-wing US militia group last June. There, Cohen dressed up as a country singer, egging on the crowd with songs that contained lyrics about injecting liberals with the “Wuhan flu.” Following an emergency exit into a waiting ambulance (the crowd didn’t exactly appreciate Cohen’s performance), the actor is alleged to have returned to the same event in a new disguise: that of a journalist (like Borat) but in a grey wig and beard.Borat 2, if and when we get to see it, will feature Cohen returning to the titular role but with a few major changes. This new Borat has found major success since leaving the eastern European enclave of Kazakhstan, becoming so well-known that he must now conduct his investigative journalism hidden behind various guises. Like if Oprah had to go undercover… or something.
