Kim Kardashian is no stranger to our screens — she is, after all, a master of both social media and on-screen entertainment, with credit to her famous family, the reality TV legacy that is KUWTK (Thursdays at 8p ET on E!) and, of course, her many business ventures (and selfies, also the selfies.)But, in case you’ve had trouble keeping up with this Kardashian in recent weeks, it looks like she’s adding a new role to her ever-evolving resume: voice acting. Variety reports that Kardashian is joining (a rather impressive) cast including Jimmy Kimmel, Tyler Perry, Randall Park, Dax Shepard, and Yara Shahidi for the PAW Patrol animated movie, which is slated for release on August 20, 2021. Also joining the official cast list for the beloved Nickelodeon movie adaptation is Marsai Martin, Ian Armitage and Will Brisbin. For those not familiar — or, perhaps, just those of us without children who obsessively watch the show — PAW Patrol is an animated Nickelodeon series which premiered in 2013. An instant hit amongst the younger generation, the series follows a protagonist named Ryder works to safeguard the residents of his local community with the help of his crew of 6 search-and-rescue dogs. For the movie, Ryder and his crew will be called to stop Mayor Humdinger from turning Adventure City into a state of chaos.

While this may seem like uncharted territory for Kim (surely, this exercises a very different skill set than skillfully pranking Kris Jenner on national television), we imagine she is thrilled to work on a project that her kids can enjoy. In fact, according to Twitter, she is “officially a cool mom to her kids."

PAW Patrol: The Movie is being directed by Cal Brunker who, at this point in his career, is rather synonymous with the mention of an animated project. The director has an impressive portfolio of audience-approved films, including Escape from Planet Earth, Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature, and The Son of Big Foot. Jennifer Dodge, Ronnen Harary, Adam Beder, and Peter Schlessel will round out the production team.

Currently, the series (which airs in over 30 languages around the world) has been renewed for an eighth season. We presume, based on the cast of beloved pups from the show, Kim will be voicing the female character, Skye, a cockapoo with a knack for flying helicopters.
