It’s fair to say that John Krasinski has come a long way from being an unknown actor on The Office. He’s proved himself as an action star (oh hey, Jack Ryan); as a director he knows his way around a creepy camera angle (anyone else have nightmares from A Quiet Place?); and lately during self-isolation he’s brightened up days everywhere with his new feel-good series, Some Good News. So the fact that the actor supposedly met with Marvel Studios recently? Well, who could blame fans for freaking out a little about what this could all mean.According to reports, Marvel hasn’t completely shut down during the coronavirus pandemic and the studio is still taking virtual meetings with all kinds of talent. Apparently Krasinski is one of those people the powers that be met with recently, which could basically mean nothing . . . or everything. Geeks WorldWide, a site dedicated to bringing fans news about video games, comics, movies and other such things to geek out over, revealed recently that this is the first time Krasinski and studio prez Kevin Feige have ever met, but they’ve both said that they’d love to work together in the past.[video_embed id='1938581']RELATED: John Krasinski delights hospital staff with baseball stars and surprises[/video_embed]As to what Krasinski could play or do in an MCU offering, well that’s up in the air. The publication speculates that he could be the villainous Kang in Young Avengers, or that perhaps talks have started to get him on board Fantastic Four as a star and director. Meanwhile fans are throwing every theory out there from a new, older version of Cyclops in X-Men to Spider-Man villain Doctor Octopus. Whatever happened at that virtual meeting, fans are losing their minds about it—especially the contingent of people who are hoping that Krasinski will actually land the role of stretchy Reed Richards and that his wife, Emily Blunt, will play Invisible Woman Sue Storm. In fact, #ReedRichards even started trending on Twitter after news of the rumoured meeting broke. Would a Fantastic Four announcement make a ridiculous number of people happy right about now? Sure it would. Will it probably happen in the near future? Who knows. Maybe. Marvel has made casting announcements before confirming films before—that’s what happened with Brie Larson and Captain Marvel, after all. And it’s a positive sign that so many projects are finding ways to continue virtually right now while production itself on so many films and TV shows have had to postpone. For now though it seems like Krasinski fans will have to be happy tuning into new episodes of Some Good News, where he’s making smiles happen through Office reunions, recognizing hardworking  healthcare workers and reminding everyone of the joy of baseball… with surprise cameos from Blunt of course. In the meantime, if the subject of the MCU come up on any new installments of the show, fans should be on the lookout for the old Jim Halpert camera glance. That should tell them everything they need to know.[video_embed id='1936894']BEFORE YOU GO: Kelly Ripa gets tearful over the stress of physical distancing[/video_embed]
