Rihanna has two cameos in A$AP Rocky's new doc, 'Stockholm Syndrome'

A$AP Rocky’s new autobiographical documentary features some pretty big names. Think: Naomi Campbell, Kim Kardashian, Tyler the Creator, A$AP Ferg, and Michèle Lamy. For Rocky, however, there’s no bigger name than “The One” — his girlfriend Rihanna.
The superstar makes a double cameo in the film which follows A$AP’s (aka Rakim Mayers) 2019 arrest on charges of assault in Sweden and the resulting trial.
Following the ordeal (in which Kim Kardashian and Donald Trump both got involved), Rocky has shared his story in the film Stockholm Syndrome which had its debut at the Tribeca Film Festival. In an interview in conjunction with the premiere, A$AP shared that having girlfriend and recent Vogue Italia covergirl Rihanna by his side both in the present and while going through the court case in Europe was “amazing.”
“I'm honestly truly blessed, for real," he said, adding it's "important having that support in real life, you know?"
For Stockholm Syndrome, Rocky agreed that “nothing be off limits” for the filmmakers (directing team The Architects). Describing the finished project, Tribeca released a statement saying, "With amazing access, the film reveals Rocky's experience with the inequities of the Swedish judicial system and the dangers of stardom and scapegoating through a series of twists and turns, ultimately paralleling the need for prison reform in our own backyard."
In 2019, the rapper was involved in an altercation with two other men in Stockholm. In the wake of the street fight, he was arrested, charged, and held in custody in a Swedish jail for nearly a month while his trial played out.
He was ultimately found guilty but served no further time after the judge deemed the incident not of such a “serious nature that a prison sentence must be chosen.” Initially, A$AP was facing up to six months in jail, instead, he ended up paying a small settlement to his accuser.
In his own words, A$AP Rocky said, "I think making a documentary is all about vulnerability. The documentary is all about showing honesty, authenticity, purity,” he explained.
"I just wanted to tell my story without really complaining or without, you know, seeming like a victim, or like I wanted a pity party or what not. So, here it is."
With the judicial ordeal behind him, the rapper says he’s looking toward the future — one with Rihanna in it.
"What's next for me was what I was doing before I went to prison," he said. "Me and the prettiest mothaf**er ever, we breaking headlines and making history with creativity."
