A new psychological thriller titled, Sprial, has a lot of star power attached to it already.
Deadline reports that Selena Gomez is set to star in the film that will be directed by Canadian Petra Collins. But that’s not all!
Toronto’s very own Drake is reportedly on board as an executive producer with Matthew Budman and Sumaiya Kaveh producing through Forest Hill Entertainment. Drake’s close friend Future the Prince has also signed on to exec produce the new project.
According to the outlet, Spiral follows a former social media influencer whose addiction to social media is causing her body to literally fall apart. We’re already interested.
The project is currently being shopped around to major streamers so we’ll have to stay tuned to see where we can watch the film.
Drake’s no strange to executive producing major projects. Future the Prince and the Toronto rapper are both executive producers on HBO’s Euphoria (stream now on Crave), and if these projects are similar in any way, we’re already hooked.
Drake is also an executive producer on Netflix’s Top Boy, which is set to release its highly anticipated fourth season later in 2021. The latest season of Top Boy saw Kano return as Sully and Ashley Walters as Dushane. Little Simz, Dave and Michael Ward were among the new additions to the cast, playing Shelley, Modie and Jamie respectively.
Gomez just finished working on the Hulu series Only Murders In The Building, starring Steve Martin and Martin Short.
Gomez fans everywhere are already celebrating the fact that “Actresslena” is back.
