If we were to ask you to name some of the most charming personalities in Hollywood, it’s likely that both George Clooney and Julia Roberts would make it onto that list. Both actors are beloved not only for their acting talents, but also their undeniable charisma and likeability. The pair also happen to be long-time friends (over 15 years in the making, to be precise) so, really, their on-screen chemistry should come as no surprise.

In this way, the Ocean’s Eleven franchise and the 2016 film Money Monster were a gift – bringing two of our favourite A-listers together on the big screen. And now? It’s happening again. It’s really happening. But this time, it’s for a romantic comedy.

Earlier today, Deadline shared the news that Clooney and Roberts are teaming up for a romantic comedy titled Ticket To Paradise.

In the film, Clooney and Roberts will reportedly play a divorced couple who, upon learning that their daughter has plans to get hitched in Bali, find themselves racing to the tropical destination to put a halt to those impending nuptials. The reason? To stop her from making the same mistake they feel they made 25 years prior.

The film, which will begin shooting later this year, will be directed by Ol Parker for Universal Pictures and Working Title. Ted Melfi, who previously worked on Hidden Figures, wrote the script, and Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Deborah Balder Stone, and Sarah Harvey will produce alongside Clooney and Grant Heslov, as well as Roberts, Lisa Gillan, and Marisa Yeres Gill.

Parker, for his part, is well established in the directorial realm, having previously sat at the helm of Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. Fans might recall that Clooney recently appeared in the post-apocalyptic tale The Midnight Sky, and Roberts has a number of projects coming up, including the TV series Gaslit, and the WWII-era film White Bird.

It was also well-known that Roberts was ensnared in an epic ‘prank battle’ with Clooney and Pitt on the set of the Oceans Eleven films, so we can’t help but wonder – will the battle rage on?
