Such a Fun Age was labelled the most provocative page-turner of the year by critics. Kiley Reid's debut novel tells the story of a 25-year-old African-American college graduate named Emira who babysits for a wealthy, white woman named Alix and her family. The story is told from the alternating perspectives of Emira and Alix and opens with Amira being falsely accused of kidnapping the little girl she babysits. The book explores the dynamic between a privileged mom, a young nanny and the clash of values between the two.Yup, sounds like a page-turner! Oh, and did we mention that Emmy Award-winner Lena Waithe will be adapting the book for TV?Vogue gave Such a Fun Age a shining review, saying "This page-turner goes down like comfort food, but there's no escaping the heartburn."
