It doesn’t matter what Meghan Markle — or her sister-in-law Kate Middleton, for that matter — decides to don, whether it be a show or a shirt or a bow, it has a tendency to become quite popular the day after.
Take, for instance, what Markle wore for dinner at Tre Lune restaurant in Montecito, California for her 42nd birthday. And no, we don’t mean Prince Harry on her arm (if only such a thing could be purchased off Amazon).
The Duchess of Sussex wore a casual yet chic black-and-white striped tube dress from Australian brand Posse. The dress quickly sold out soon after, with pre-sales then set in. Posse has become a new favourite among the celeb crowd, with Sofia Richie, Selena Gomez, and Alessandra Ambrosio having recently worn the brand. Speaking of Richie, yes, you could very much call this quiet luxury.
Along with the dress, Markle carried the Cult Gaia Nia clutch, and wore black Emme Parsons thong sandals and gold Tabayer Oera earrings.
For the curious few, the Prince wore a linen blue shirt and white trousers, keeping the couple a preppy pair. They also seemed to be in good spirits, all smiles as they exited the restaurant. Which is good timing, because rumours have been flying for a minute that the pair might be headed for a split.
Fearing the spotlight a little less these days, Markle also recently stepped out to attend Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in California, according to Page Six. Harry skipped out on that jaunt, and Markle was instead joined by friend Lucy Fraser.
The couple recently made headlines, too, with the news that their production company Archewell is now looking to adapt a book into a Netflix series as part of their deal with the streaming network. Said book is Canadian writer Carley Fortune’s New York Times bestseller Meet Me at the Lake.
In an Instagram post, Fortune wrote, “I never thought I’d be making this announcement, but since I am, it feels fitting that I’m doing it from the cottage where it all began. I’m thrilled to confirm that I’m teaming up with Netflix and Archewell productions on the adaption of Meet Me at the Lake. Will and Fern’s love story is dear to my heart, and I can’t imagine a more perfect partnership. Writing this book was a tremendous personal challenge, and to see it recognized in this way is truly incredible.”
