Get the look: Fresh off her split, Ariana Grande went preppy at Wimbledon

No one has had a buzzier week than Ariana Grande.

The pop singer made a stylish display at Wimbledon this week, marking her first appearance since rumours of a split from husband Dalton Gomez began to swirl over the past month.

And yes, she wasn’t wearing her wedding ring, which led to a fervour on social media, until TMZ confirmed later that day that the two indeed separated earlier this year after just about two years of marriage. According to the tabloid, the break-up came down to the two essentially living a long-distance relationship while she’s been filming Wicked in London.

But Grande sure stepped out for the moment, and still had some eye candy on her arm in the form of Wicked co-star and Bridgerton actor Jonathan Bailey.

The duo were both dressed in head-to-toe Ralph Lauren, in line with the event’s preppy aesthetic. Grande went slightly wintery, in an all-grey ensemble, which included a short-sleeved mock-neck knitted sweater and wool skirt. Her accessories included a pair of Loewe’s black toy pumps (which Emma Watson also wore to the same event), pearl hoops, circular sunnies, and, of course, a white Wimbledon camp.

Bailey, meanwhile, was decked out in an all-beige Ralph Lauren three-piece set, including a crisp shirt, tie, and coat.

The two giggled and cheered their way through the game, clearly having hit it off while in production. In fact, Grande also went shopping this week with another Wicked co-star, Cynthia Erivo, at Loewe in London (and perhaps when she picked up her shiny new pumps).

Still, it’s Grande’s split that’s had everyone’s attention this week. She and Gomez began dating in January 2020, and were married the following May.

Adding a little more spice to the gossip is yet another TMZ report that claims Grande has already begun dating a new man — yes, another Wicked co-star, this one being Broadway actor Ethan Slater. You’re most likely to recognize him from his Tony Award-nominated role in the live-action SpongeBob Squarepants musical (yes, that is a thing that happened).

The sticky part? Slater’s been married to singer Lilly Jay since 2018, and the pair had a child just last fall. Neither Slater nor Grande have confirmed a relationship, and Slater has turned his social media to private since the rumour mill kicked off.

Whatever the story, at least Grande has a knack for letting her wardrobe steal some headlines.
