On Monday, Graham headed to Brooklyn to enjoy a gastronomic experience at Clase Azul's The Loft, where she turned heads in a bedazzled newspaper print mini dress with a side slit by London-based designer Clio Peppiatt, along with black rhinestone sandals by Amina Muaddi, and an equally shimmering pouch-style purse.

With beachy waves and a bronzed sheen, in a word, Graham was glowing.

Now, if this dress looks familiar, that’s probably because the last time we witnessed a show-stopping newspaper print dress, it was worn by Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the City. In the popular comedy’s third season, Carrie sported an unforgettable “newspaper dress” as it came to be known. Her version was John Galliano for Christian Dior Autumn/Winter 2000-2001, and featured a cowl neck. Her outfit also included a sparkly bag and strappy heels (and, of course, her “Carrie” necklace). It was envisioned by none other than legendary costume designer Patricia Field.

Carrie would wear a longer version of the same dress in the Sex and the City movie sequel in 2010.

In fact, Sex and the City has long been the source for many a fashion moment, including Carrie’s “naked dress,” her pink tank and white tutu combo, and the stunning sea foam green tulle she ran around Paris in. In the sequel series, And Just Like That, we’ve also seen many a look worth talking about on social media.

For her part, Graham also hosts the HGTV reality competition series Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge, and recently chatted about her love of the doll, with the big-budget movie starring Margot Robbie as Barbie herself making waves at the box office and on Twitter.

“I actually got to meet Margot [Robbie] in Utah at this conference months prior to Barbie,” Graham shared with People (https://people.com/ashley-graham-glad-barbie-referenced-cellulite-interview-exclusive-7565245) this week. “I totally had a fangirl moment, walked straight up to the front, and I was like, ‘Hi, Margot Robbie. I am Ashley Graham. I just want to let you know there was a Barbie made in my likeness. It has boobs. It has hips. It has an ass. It has round arms. It has lower belly fat, but the only thing it doesn't have is cellulite, and I wish it did. Are you putting cellulite in the movie?'"

Graham did indeed launch her own plus-sized doll with Mattel back in 2016, and insisted she have no thigh gap, though the toy company pushed back on no cellulite.

“I literally asked her and she started laughing and she was like, ‘There is an inside joke throughout the whole movie about cellulite,’” Graham said. “I was like, ‘Is that all you can tell me?’ And she's like, ‘Yes.’ And so I waited for months. Sure enough, I went and saw it and I was like, ‘Good,’ because you have to talk about it. I have it. We have it. It is what it is. And Barbie never had it. Ever. So I'm glad they talked about it and addressed it in their way.”
