If you’ve been missing the hilarious crew from Sacred Heart Hospital, your prayers have finally been answered. Former
Scrubs stars, and besties IRL, Zach Braff and Donald Faison just announced the launch of their new podcast,
Fake Doctors, Real Friends with Zach + Donald, available now on iHeartRadio. In the same spirit as
Office Ladies —another popular
celebrity podcast featuring Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey of
The Office—each airing of
Fake Doctors, Real Friends will revisit an episode of the popular medical comedy. Offering a behind-the-scenes look at
Scrubs plotlines in chronological order, fans will get a fresh perspective on their favourite characters and stories. The first episode of the podcast, "The Pilot/My First Day," discusses the audition process, first impressions of cast members and what it’s like to film in an abandoned hospital."It's almost like DVD commentary," Braff told
Entertainment Weekly. "We'll sit around and talk about funny stories and things we remember behind the scenes." The vibe is distinctly cheerful and nostalgic as the pair go down memory lane together, sharing laughs as well as secrets from the show.
Braff and Faison, who played best friends on the show and are super-close in their off-screen lives, have plenty of juicy tidbits to offer fans through this new medium. For starters, Braff admits that there was a real-life love connection between himself and Canadian actress Sarah Chalke, who played Dr. Elliot Reid—or at least, there was on Braff’s end. “I really was truly head over heels in love with her," Braff admits in the first episode of the podcast. There’s no evidence the pair actually dated (Chalke has been with her husband, Jamie Afifi, since the early 2000s) or how serious Braff’s statement was, but it definitely makes for a good story. We wonder what Braff’s current girlfriend,
Little Women actress Florence Pugh, thinks of the revelation? In addition to their time on
Scrubs, Faison starred in the epic ‘90s film
Clueless and had smaller roles in dozens of movies, including the first
Pitch Perfect film. He also starred in the television adaptation of
Clueless (remember when that was on TGIF?). Braff famously wrote, directed and starred in 2004’s
Garden State with Natalie Portman and made numerous film and television appearances over the years but both are still widely recognized for their work on the sitcom that ran from 2001 to 2010.You can listen to
