What do Thor’s Tessa Thompson and Lil Nas X have in common?

Hint: it involves their feet.

Tessa Thompson, who stars in the latest Thor flick, and rap darling Lil Nas X, might have more in common than anyone realizes. It involves their feet. But not in some selling-pics-on-Craigslist-to-pay-rent kind of way. Both Hollywood talents wore covet-worthy footwear on the street this week, and were two of the few stars who really took a chance on bold boots and shoes. Truthfully, both of their picks were a refreshing change from the Chelsea and chunky combat boots that have been dominating this fall’s sartorial choices (both of which we adore, regardless).

Tessa was on Jimmy Kimmel this week and arrived at the late night talk show in an all-cream fit that involved a g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s pair of pointy knee-high boots. Lil Nas on the other hand went for head-to-toe black in Manhattan and in true Lil Nas fashion wore major platform shoes with a not-so-subtle translucent lucite heel. And we can’t forget to mention the epic weiner dog-shaped handbag he carried, too. So good.

Other A-listers were swapping summer-time footwear for more fall-approp options as well, like Nicky Hlilton and Olivia Rodrigo, both who showed different ways to wear the season’s combat boot trend.
