Travis Scott deactivates Instagram account following backlash from Batman costume

Halloween took place over the weekend and that means that everyone's Instagram timeline was full of celebrities dressing up in their extravagant costumes and attending huge parties even though we're still in a pandemic. Travis Scott posted a photo of himself dressed as Batman for the holiday but despite clearly loving the outfit himself, many of his followers began trolling him for his costume.On Saturday, the "Sicko Mode" rapper posted a video and photos of his chocolate-brown Batman costume and the posts quickly went viral.

He was spotted at Kendall Jenner's annual Halloween birthday party over the weekend with Migos rapper Quavo and it seemed like he was really enjoying his costume before his followers went after him for his outfit choice.

Many of Scott's followers mocked the rapper's look, with some saying it seemed he was channeling The Flea from ¡Mucha Lucha! and others suggesting that the costume looked more like a literal bug than the DC superhero.

Scott deactivated his Instagram account on Sunday after posting the photo of himself to celebrate the spooky season. He has been very active on social media over the last few months, posting about his McDonald's collab, his partnership with PlayStation as a new strategic creative partner ahead of the PS5 launch and new music. La Flame usually clears out his Instagram by deleting all of his photos ahead of a new album release but this time he completely deactivated.Some of Scott's followers believe that the Instagram exit was due to the backlash over the decidedly-off-black Batman costume.

While that could very well be it, that wasn't the only online criticism in Scott's stratosphere this weekend. Kendall Jenner's mega birthday bash isn't going over well with fans either. The Halloween-themed party brought together the entire KarJenner crew as well as famous friends including Canadians The Weeknd and Winnie Harlow and Jaden Smith who dressed up as a sick patient on oxygen. Though Kendall had a strict "no social media" rule for her guests, pictures got out anyway (as they tend to do) and a significant portion of the internet is upset at the one-percenters hosting a no-mask, not-socially-distanced event during a pandemic.For his part, Scott's Twitter account is still active but he hasn't offered an explanation either way for why he's deleted his Instagram account. He did reveal earlier this year that he's working on a joint album with Kid Cudi after the pair worked together on the single, "The Scotts."Did Travis Scott delete his Instagram over keyboard warriors making fun of him? Is he feeling shame for participating in a pandemic party? Is there new music on the way? Is this all part of a Keeping Up With the Kardashians (Thursdays at 8pET on E!) storyline? Only time will tell.
