Timothée Chalamet’s GQ cover story reveals his feelings on those steamy Lily-Rose Depp pictures

We’ve all been young, in love, and taken oodles of selfies with our partners, snogging their faces off. It’s all part of the fun of growing up! But imagine the press taking those photos without your permission, and then blasting them across the internets for the world to see. Ugh, why is our kissing face so . . . wonky?Well that was the fresh hell that actor and fashion icon Timothée Chalamet endured last year when the paparazzi secretly snapped pictures of him with his then-girlfriend (and The King co-star) Lily-Rose Depp playing tonsil hockey on a yacht in Italy.It was the makeout sesh that launched a thousand memes. Now, the Call Me By Your Name star is talking about that steamy kiss for the first time, and he’s just a bit red in the face about it.For the November issue of GQ, Timmy graces the cover and goes in depth about that moment in time, and how he reacted to the photo media blitz.

“I went to bed that night thinking that was one of the best days of my life,” Timothée told GQ. “I was on this boat all day with someone I really loved, and closing my eyes, I was like, indisputably, ‘That was great.’”“And then waking up to all these pictures,” he continued, “and feeling embarrassed, and looking like a real nob? All pale? And then people are like: This is a P.R. stunt. A P.R. stunt?! Do you think I’d want to look like that in front of all of you?!”Lily-Rose Depp, who is the daughter of French actress and dancer Vanessa Paradis and American acting icon Johnny Depp, has never spoken publicly about the photos, and her and Timothée split up back in the spring.

Previously, the Little Women star was linked to Madonna’s daughter Lourdes Leon, and recently was seen kissing Eiza Gonzales in Mexico, but his current relationship status is unknown. Which we think means there’s still room for him and Lily Rose to reunite! We just love them together, and frankly, we could use more memes.
