Taylor Swift’s heart is with everyone in Nashville, and now her deep pockets are helping out the cause too. Taytay put her money where her mouth is on March 5 when she made further good on her well-wishes to the tornado-torn city, putting a whopping one million dollars towards relief efforts.“Nashville is my home and the fact that so many people have lost their homes and so much more in Middle Tennessee is devastating to me,” Taylor wrote on her Instagram Stories. “I've made a donation to the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund. If you'd like to do the same, swipe up.”[video_embed id='1710274']RELATED: Taylor Swift and Katy Perry have finally ended their feud[/video_embed]No word yet on how Swifties have pitched in with their own contributions, but “The Man” singer is just one of many celebs stepping up in the wake of the two tornadoes that hit through Tennessee on March 2 and 3, killing more than 20 people, injuring six or seven times that, and damaging many people’s homes and properties. Dan + Shay put $100,000 towards the cause, Chris Young gave $50,000, Lynyrd Skynyrd singer Johnny Van Zant offered up $10,000, and Kacey Musgraves donated all proceeds from an online closet sale she held recently. Swift’s donation remains the largest recorded to-date, matched only by the owner of a football team (the Tennessee Titans). According to the Middle Tennessee Emergency Response Fund, donations that they collect go to the non-profits that help provide vital immediate and long-term services to anyone affected by the tornadoes. “We know when disasters strike, there are no quick fixes,” a rep says on the official donation site. “We need to support the affected communities and the non-profits on the ground helping victims and addressing their needs.”Swift’s donation should come as no surprise to her fans; one of the reasons people are always in their feelings over the singer is because of her history of giving to good causes. In 2018 she gifted $15,500 to a fan whose mother was in a coma, in 2015 she helped a fan with leukemia to the tune of $50,000, and in the past she made one Canadian fan’s “Wildest Dreams” come true with a $6,000 tuition gift. That’s all on top of donations she’s made over the years to organizations and causes she cares about, including the queer community and sexual assault survivors. Oh and in 2016? She donated another cool million to help the Louisiana flood relief. “The fact that so many people in Louisiana have been forced out of their own homes this week is heartbreaking,” she said at the time. “I encourage those who can to help out and send your love and prayers their way during this devastating time.”At this point Swift’s impressive philanthropy even comes with its own timeline, which is something only a person with a reported net worth of $360 million could probably pull off.
