Selena Gomez, Cara Delevingne and other celebs with matching tattoos

Some relationships are just so meaningful that you want them to be a part of you forever. Seems like Selena Gomez and Cara Delevingne’s close friendship falls into that category, because the two friends revealed matching watercolour tattoos this week.
Celebrity tattoo artist Bang Bang first shared Gomez’s new pink rose on Tuesday, zooming in on the delicate back tattoo after teasing it earlier on in the week. Then on Wednesday, the artist shared a photo of Delevingne with the same tattoo, only on her torso. “I had so much fun making these tattoos— thanks for always trusting me Cara,”
Bang Bang captioned the post. “Fyi I didn’t tell them til the end that these were my first watercolor tattoos ever.”
The 29-year-olds have been friends for years now, having starred together in Taylor Swift’s 2014 “Bad Blood” music video. Delevingne will also appear in the upcoming second season of Gomez’s Hulu series Only Murders in the Building alongside Steve Martin and Martin Short.
This isn’t the first time either of them have gotten matching tattoos with a bestie; Gomez has 16 tattoos, while Delevingne has previously revealed matching ink with her ex-girlfriend, Ashley Benson (their initials), as well as with her friends Paris Jackson (a red rose), Kaia Gerber (the word soulmate above their soles), Margot Robbie (Suicide Squad tattoos on their toes), and model Jourdan Dunn (“DD” on their hips).
So what other celebrities have purposely paired their ink? Plenty. The Suicide Squad cast Delevingne and Robbie aren’t the only Suicide Squad members to commemorate their time on the films with tattoos. In fact, Robbie inked the word “SKWAD” while in character as Harley Quinn onto several of her co-stars, including Will Smith, Jai Courtney, and director David Ayer. It’s a tradition the cast has since carried on with all new skwad members entering the building.
The Lord of the Rings cast
Orlando Bloom, Elijah Wood, Dominic Monaghan, Billy Boyd, Viggo Mortensen, Ian McKellen, Sean Astin, and Sean Bean had such an epic time shooting the fantasy series of movies that they celebrated their fellowship with matching tattoos.
The group each got the word “nine” tattooed on their bodies in Elvish Tengwar script to represent the nine of them going on their Middle Earth journey (John Rhys-Davies is the only cast member who didn’t get one).
Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams
Speaking of epic fantasy romps, these Game of Thrones stars and onscreen sisters also decided to do something a little more permanent to remember that time they helped bring Westeros to life. So they each got a tattoo of the date they found out they’d star in the series that forever changed their lives.
Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas
That’s not the only matching tattoo for Turner though, who also got inked with her husband, Joe Jonas. The pair split up the famous Toy Story quote, “To infinity and beyond” on each of their wrists, with Jonas taking the first part of the Buzz Lightyear catchphrase and Turner taking the second part.
John Legend and Chrissy Teigen
The singer and his cookbook author wife have a long history of sharing on social media, and that includes their matching tattoos to commemorate their children.
While they pair previously shared matching ink that says “Chrissy Luna Miles” and “John Luna Miles,” more recently they also showed off a heartfelt tattoo for Jack, the son they lost halfway through their pregnancy.
Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik
This former couple celebrated the birth of their daughter Khai by getting her name inked in Arabic on their bods. Gigi placed hers on the inside of her elbow, while Zayn’s sits on his wrist.
Paris Jackson and Macaulay Culkin
Culkin and his goddaughter celebrated their bond with matching spoon tattoos a few years back. Why spoons? Apparently, Culkin used to steal them from restaurants and cafes, and he passed that habit along to Jackson.
Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner
These besties decided to commemorate their own friendship with matching BFF heart tattoos, one in red and the other in white.
Hailey Bieber and Ireland Baldwin
Hailey’s tattoo with Jenner isn’t the only matching set in her life. The model also got a tattoo with her cousin, Ireland Baldwin, of their maiden names.
Hilary Duff and Alanna Masterson
These actors are such great friends that they have not one, but two matching tattoos. The first are coins (for their “two cents”) and the second are cute ghosts to represent how they’re each other’s ride or dies.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z
This power couple has the roman numeral for “four” tattooed on their ring fingers, and it holds all kinds of significance. They were both born on the fourth, for starters. But they were also wed on April 4, and their daughter Blue Ivy, is named after the number four (I-V).
Miley Cyrus and Pete Davidson
Not all friendship tattoos are thought-out. In fact, Miley and Pete proved the opposite to be true when they decided to get “We babies” tattooed on themselves after doing a Saturday Night Live sketch together. Later, Davidson had his wrist tat removed (during a Smart Water commercial of all places), but Miley still has hers on her ankle.
