Never put it past Sacha Baron Cohen to pull off a prank in the most random of ways. The Borat and Who is America? star managed to fool an entire conservative rally this past weekend when he showed up in disguise as the singer of a band and convinced the crowd to sing along to racist lyrics.Fans first reported the news on social media, and Variety later confirmed that Cohen showed up at the “March for Our Rights 3” rally hosted by the far-right militia group Washington Three Percenters on June 27. According to reports, the actor first pretended to be the rich head of a political action committee who wanted to sponsor the rally. Then, he hired his own security team and showed up as a singer, and had his team block organizers from pulling him offstage or turning off the power to his mic once people realized what was going on. Considering the ruckus Cohen caused onstage, it’s not hard to see why organizers wanted to silence the performance. His lyrics—which he encouraged the crowd to repeat back to him—included references to Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, the “Wuhan flu” and chopping up members of the World Health Organization “like the Saudis do,” according to Variety.“Obama, what we gonna do? Inject him with the Wuhan flu," "Hillary Clinton, what we gonna do? Lock her up like we used to do," "Fauci don’t know his head from his ass. He must be smoking grass," and "I ain’t lying, it ain’t no jokes. Corona is a liberal hoax,” were just some of the reported lyrics.Although Cohen hasn’t officially confirmed his prank, it’s definitely not the first time he’s pulled off such antics. This is the same man who dressed as his character Gen. Aladeen from The Dictator at the Oscars, knocked an elderly woman in a wheelchair off the stage at a BAFTA show, and pretended to be a U.S. vet when meeting Sarah Palin. On Who Is America?, Cohen has also pranked a number of U.S. political figures including Bernie Sanders and Dick Cheney. Showtime, which airs the series, hasn’t commented on the latest stunt or even whether the series has been renewed for a second season, but according to The Hollywood Reporter Cohen has no interest in doing another run. “It's like The Ali G Show in England — I did one season. And the idea is not to make it a Seinfeld or an SNL," he said in a 2018 Awards Chatter podcast.Meanwhile, protest organizers are making it clear that they don’t condone the prank in any way, shape or form. They took to Facebook shortly after the rally to reveal as much. "We of the WA3% were appalled at the performance of an entertainer adorned in clown-face, who --- much to our group's mutual repugnance --- voiced a series of racist and antisemitic jokes and songs, while on the stand," the organization wrote. "This display of disgusting antics was neither condoned nor accepted by WA3%, and we disavow any affiliation with this lamentable individual. Our ranks enjoy the membership of every race, religion, and creed, and such despicable behaviour is NEVER allowed within our group, and if it ever arises, it causes the immediate dismissal of the perpetrator."[video_embed id='1984965']Before you go: Roommate defies gravity with elaborate bedroom prank[/video_embed]
