Princess Beatrice, daughter of Sarah, Duchess of York and Prince Andrew, Duke of York; wearer of the fascinator that no one will or can ever forget at the wedding of Prince William, Duke of Cambridge and Duchess Kate; granddaughter to the reigning Queen of England and ninth in line to its throne can now add the title “Countess” to her already long and impressive pedigree. What we’re trying to say here is that the Princess was married on the morning of July 17 in a low-key surprise ceremony near Windsor castle. Congrats!Unlike the record-breaking media events that were the weddings of William and Kate and Harry and Meghan, Beatrice’s wedding was a private affair, attended by immediate family including the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh. The wedding had initially been scheduled for May, but the pandemic put a halt to those plans and before that, her big engagement party was cancelled after the fallout from her father Prince Andrew's disastrous interview about his connection to Jeffrey Epstein. The rescheduling comes after the U.K. government began permitting groups as large as 30 to congregate, providing that they follow safety regulations. The bride and her groom, Italian real estate developer (and Count) Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, were wed at The Royal Chapel of All Saints at Royal Lodge, where Beatrice and her sister Eugenie grew up and where the Duke and Duchess of York still reside, despite their 1996 divorce. The BBC reports that the couple’s relationship began in 2018 at the wedding of Beatrice’s sister, Princess Eugenie, to Jack Brooksbank. Mozzi was one of the wedding’s 1,200 guests — his family has long enjoyed close ties with the Duke and Duchess of York. The nuptials have added another title to Beatrice’s collection, too: that of stepmom. Mozzi has a four-year-old son with his former partner, an American architect and designer.[video_embed id='1996064']Before you go: Buckingham Palace reveals 'Royal Gin' now for sale[/video_embed]
