Pamela Anderson is single no more, and the story of her latest walk down the aisle may be the most wild yet. That’s saying something, considering the OG Canadian bombshell has been married four times before to musicians Tommy Lee and Kid Rock, and poker player Rick Salomon (whom Anderson was married to twice, for a year each time, in 2007 and 2014).So who is the guy who captured Anderson’s 52-year-old heart this time around? Surprisingly it’s one of the first men she ever connected with in Hollywood, movie mogul Jon Peters.
According to reports the couple got hitched in a secret ceremony in Malibu on Jan. 20, three decades after they first dated. Talk about coming full circle.Here’s the kicker: 74-year-old Peters, who has also been married four times before and had a notable 12-year affair with Barbra Streisand that resulted in the 1976 iteration of
A Star Is Born, asked Anderson to marry him back when she was in her early twenties. They had met at the Playboy mansion, dated and even lived together, but ultimately she didn’t accept his proposal. He told her then that in 30 years their age difference wouldn’t matter and turns out he was right.“Pamela has never seen her full potential as an artist. She has yet to shine in a real way. There is much more to her than meets the eye, or I wouldn’t love her so much,” Peters told
The Hollywood Reporter. “There are beautiful girls everywhere. I could have my pick, but — for 35 years — I’ve only wanted Pamela. She makes me wild — in a good way. She inspires me. I protect her and treat her the way she deserves to be treated.”
Apparently back in the day, Peters tried to convince Anderson not to do the
Playboy covers that ultimately catapulted her into super-stardom, not because he felt protective of her body or because he didn’t want to share her, but because he wanted her to achieve her full potential as a serious actress (there are those
A Star is Born vibes again). She simply said, “You’re crazy” and went on to basically define what a blonde
Playboy pinup looked like.Meanwhile Peters, who has produced classics like
Flashdance,
The Witches of Eastwick and
Batman, paid for acting classes, got her voice and dance lessons, and helped her make a name for herself in the TV world on shows like
Home Improvement and
Baywatch. The rest, as they say, is history.Anderson hasn't been in the spotlight recently though, ever since she moved to France where she’s been advocating for animal rights and popping by the Ecuadorean Embassy in London for visits with Julian Assange. Add in some presumed pain-au-chocolats and cafés, and it really does sound like Anderson has been living her best life since her
public split with boyfriend
Adil Rami last summer.
