Nick Cannon revealed that he lost his five-month-old son, Zen Scott Cannon, to brain cancer.

“I had a very tough weekend,” he told the audience and crew during a taping of The Nick Cannon Show on December 7.

Holding up a framed photo of his youngest child as the "Pic of the Day," the host revealed, through tears, explained that he’d lost Zen to a malignant brain tumour following a cancer diagnosis months earlier.

"I always noticed he had something, like to me, it was a sinus thing. By the time he was two months old. . . he had a Cannon head," Nick shared, pointing out that all of his seven children have sizable heads.

The family took him to the the doctors to check that Zen didn't have a sinus infection and found out there was fluid building up in his head, and he had to have immediate surgery.

They were hopeful for the best but by (American) Thanksgiving weekend, things took a turn for the worst.

Following the brain tumour diagnosis, Cannon and Zen’s mother, model Alyssa Scott, made sure that their son spent all the time that he could with his siblings, and Cannon specifically called out Alyssa for being an amazing mother, so strong and supportive during a tough time.

The host said he was lucky enough to spend this past weekend with Zen, taking him to see the ocean and expressed what it meant to him to hold him for the last time.

"It was a beautiful setting. Not only did we get to the sun rise but we got see the sun set too."
