Miley Cyrus is on vocal rest after undergoing surgery

Miley Cyrus is taking a vow of silence after undergoing vocal cord surgery. The popstar with the massive pipes has been forced to take a step back not only from performing and recording new music, but also from talking after undergoing necessary surgery to repair her vocal cords on Saturday. Thankfully, she won’t be alone during her recovery with People reporting that new boyfriend Cody Simpson has been by her side.Cyrus was first hospitalized back in October for tonsillitis and according to People, it was then that doctors discovered a more serious issue with her vocal cords. Cyrus was reportedly told that she would require a more extensive surgery before the end of 2019, with the recovery process including weeks of silence following the surgery. Forced to put recording new music on hold indefinitely, Cyrus underwent the surgery last week and was discharged on Saturday to recover at home.

Cyrus had already begun vocal rest before the surgery, posting a picture on her IG stories showing the singer working out with the caption “On vocal rest not body.” A source close to Cyrus told People that the singer has known for several weeks that she would require surgery and that the surgery went well. As for who is helping to nurse Cyrus back to health, that answer shouldn’t come as a shock for anyone who follows Cyrus on social media. “Cody is by her side. They are still doing well,” said the source. “Miley seems very happy. Cody will make sure she isn’t bored while she recovers.”The new vocal rest restrictions on Cyrus mean that this is an excellent time for the couple to add to their collection of dancing clips and Tik Tok videos.
