Mia Farrow embarrasses her investigative journalist son Ronan Farrow in front of The Rock

Ronan Farrow: respected author, and Pulitzer prize-winning investigative journalist. The man who blew the whistle on Harvey Weinstein’s decades of sexual assault, and helped push the #MeToo movement into the spotlight. But also... the son of proud, obnoxious mama Mia Farrow.Mia, a respected actress and activist in her own right, decided to tweet in honour of famous Broadway librettist and composer Stephen Sondheim by posting a video of a young Ronan at home, belting out ‘Not While I’m Around’ from the musical Sweeney Todd, and well, Ronan was understandably Mor.Ti.Fied.

“Ronan will kill me for this,” said the Rosemary’s Baby star in her tweet, and uh, we can see why. He’s a great singer (just like his *rumoured* father), don’t get us wrong, but no one wants their awkward, geeky home videos out in the twitterverse! Not satisfied with her original level of son-torture, she went into full Mom Gear by also adding that Ronan never learned to drive. Mommmm! Stahhhhhp!It was at this point that Ronan could hold his tongue no longer, and replied to the whole thread with a stern, “Mom.” Oh wow, he actually used that tone with her? Dang. That should have been the end of it, but not when you have Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson following the entire family circus. Commiserating with Ronan’s obvious embarrassment, The Rock replied, “Yup that’s my life too. #mompleasedont.” Wait, how does Mrs. Johnson embarrass her son? WE NEED THE RECEIPTS.They say misery loves company, but all this did was add to Ronan’s red cheeks, because he finally tweeted what we all were thinking:

Goes to show that you can be a Pulitzer prize-winning investigative journalist and a New York Times bestselling author, and your mum will still lick her thumb to wipe gunk off your cheek in public. Sigh.
