Celebrities get married all the time in Hollywood. But marriages that last for 5, 10, 15 years? Now that’s rare. So Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone had all the reason to ring in their 15-year anniversary on October 7, reminding everyone that these two are legit couple goals. The pair shared their love online with sweet tributes to each other on Instagram, along with some cute photos. “15 years ago today I married the kindest, funniest and weirdest human I’ve ever met. Grateful every single day!!!” McCarthy posted along with a current photo and a throwback snap to the big day, in which Falcone is sporting an entirely different look.
Falcone took a slightly different approach when he posted a photo of McCarthy in a butterfly frock, with blonde hair as she holds two bunnies. There’s also a skunk to her right and she is standing in what looks like the Garden of Eden. “Was scrolling through my phone and came across this photo. Can’t remember seeing it before,” he shared. “Two things: A) I’m so lucky and grateful to be married to such a lovely, smart, kind and wonderful person B) why is there a skunk in the picture? Happy fifteenth Anniversary, Mooch! Here’s to 500 more (I am assuming we will kinda be robots for 400 of those years).”
Plenty of the celebrities’ high-profile friends chimed in with well-wishes for the couple in the comments. Which makes total sense considering between the two of them they’ve basically worked with everyone in the industry. Octavia Spencer, Rosie O’Donnell, Julianne Moore, Allison Janney and Amy Sedaris were just some of the celebs that wrote in their congrats or shared heart emojis. “We share anniversaries,” wrote Mary Steenburgen, who wed Ted Danson 25 years ago in 1995. “Love to you lovelies!”McCarthy and Falcone met while they were both in comedy school. They married in 2005 and share two daughters, Georgie, 10 and Vivian, 13. This past February McCarthy opened up about her
relationship in an interview with People, revealing that she “hit the jackpot” when she met her hubs.“It’s [about] finding someone who you just absolutely are better with. He’s nothing but supportive, and he’s super smart,” she said. “He makes me gut-laugh, like crazy gut-laugh, four or five times a day.” The
Bridesmaids actor then added that in their house, it’s as fun as you’d expect it to be considering the sense of humour both personalities bring to the big screen."There’s a lot of serious stuff happening in the world, and we don’t have to have it in the house,” she revealed. “I always say I’m living in a constant old Calgon commercial where every single day in our house there’s people yelling, people coming in and out, people riding through the living room. Our youngest is constantly on some kind of wheeled thing ripping through the house, and I just kind of love it.”In addition to being great partners in real life, McCarthy and Falcone are great co-workers too. Falcone joined his wife for a small but memorable part during the airplane ride on
Bridesmaids, plus they’ve worked together on films like
Tammy,
Life of the Party,
The Happytime Murders and
The Boss.Their next project together is
Superintelligence, an action spy comedy that Falcone directed and McCarthy stars in. James Corden, Bobby Cannavale, and Brian Tyree Henry also star. Falcone also directed McCarthy in the upcoming movie
Thunder Force alongside Octavia Spencer, in which the leading ladies play characters who wind up getting super powers.Congrats to the happy couple.[video_embed id='2049925']BEFORE YOU GO: 'Horse girl' from Alberta can gallop and jump just like a horse[/video_embed]
