Madison “Madi” Prewett had a tough go of it earlier this year on the most recent installment of The Bachelor. Her and pilot Pete Weber had a rollercoaster love affair that was on, and then very much off when Madi walked off the show, and then on again after Peter botched his engagement to Hannah Ann, and then it was Barb’d into ending for good. Plus, she was raked across the coals for what many saw as an ultimatum during the show when she told Pete she’d leave if he slept with the other women. And let’s not forget ALL OF THAT was broadcast around the world for everyone to see, and comment on. So it’s no wonder that in a recent interview, Madi said she’s not even thinking about dating right now.
In an interview with Elite Daily, she said she’s not going on any dates with anyone, and that’s not just because of the quarantine. “Honestly, I really haven't even considered dates or anything like that. Anybody who's asked, I've just been like, ‘Look, I'm just focusing on myself right now.’”

“After I go through something big in life — like a breakup, a transition, a move, a change, anything like that — I really try and take time to make sure my heart is in the best place. That my heart, mind, and body are all healthy. I take time to really get back to the best version of myself and make sure I’m in a great place.” Yes, we’d call The Bachelor something big for sure.
The 24-year-old Alabama native was briefly rumoured to be dating former Bachelorette contestant Connor Saeli, but she shut down that gossip swiftly. “He seems like a really sweet guy and he like reached out right after the finale and just sent some encouragement and some support, really sweet, but that is it,” she said on her own Instagram Live broadcast. “We are not together. I am not with anyone right now. I am just focusing on myself and taking it one day at a time.”
Madi and Pilot Peter mutually decided to end their relationship back in March just two days after the After The Final Rose broadcast aired. At the time, Peter wrote about Madi on his Instagram, “Madi, thank you for your patience and unconditional love. You’re the epitome of a woman who carries herself with grace, stands by what she believes in, and loves whole heartedly. That love is something I feel so grateful to have felt and will take a piece of that with me always going forward.”
Pete has since moved on with 5th place contestant Kelley Flanagan, with whom he once shared an evening dance by chance before The Bachelor even started filming.
As for Madi, she says that what she has experienced recently has taught her to never lose sight of who she is and to remain true to her principles and values. “Just know who you are and always stand up for what you believe in,” she told Elite Daily. “I really learned this in such a different and unique way over the past year. Know who you are, no matter what environment you're in, or what people are saying about you. Stay true to you and be confident in that, even if people don't like it or disagree with it.”
Amen, sister.
