In his tweet, Lil Wayne (real name: Dwayne Michael Carter Jr.) refers to Trump’s Platinum Plan, a set of guidelines released by the Trump administration earlier this month. The plan lists items the Trump administration plan on addressing in the future, but neglects to include any real steps as to how they will increase “capital in black communities by almost $500 billion.” Aside from the administration’s total disregard for the new standard to capitalize the B in black, the plan's action items are in opposition to a lot of other policies and statements Trump has made as president. The plan includes action items like making Juneteenth a national holiday, prosecuting KKK and Antifa members as terrorists (though Antifa literally stands for "anti-fascist"), and classifying lynching as a hate crime. Most of those sound like easy, common sense items that should already be in place, but it was literally only weeks ago that Trump refused to condemn white supremacist groups and even encouraged the violent Proud Boys.[video_embed id='2064993']RELATED Jon Stewart is returning to TV with a new series [/video_embed]As for making Juneteenth a holiday, Americans should not start planning their next long weekend. In July, Trump referred to the Black Lives Matter movement as a "symbol of hate." The month before, he credited himself with making Juneteenth "very famous." So famous that he planned one of his own rallies for June 19 this year, seemingly unaware of the significant date.Look, we understand Lil Wayne wanting to help reform the criminal justice system in the U.S. The chronically broken institution targets BIPOC and specifically Black men at an alarmingly disproportionate rate and has a trickledown effect that devastates families for generations. But it's still unclear if any of Donald Trump's seemingly positive initiatives for Black Americans will actually come to fruition. It's possible Lil Wayne is hoping to follow in Kim Kardashian's footsteps—since she became an advocate for criminal justice reform, she has made several deals with Trump in order to secure clemency for first-time, nonviolent offenders.Lil Wayne is the latest of a few rappers to back Trump. Both Kanye West and 50 Cent have endorsed and then backtracked their support for 45. Most recently, Ice Cube defended his decision to work with Trump in the name of Black progress in the US.[video_embed id='-1']BEFORE YOU GO: Dog isn't happy when asked to social distance from best friend [/video_embed]Just had a great meeting with @realdonaldtrump @potus besides what he’s done so far with criminal reform, the platinum plan is going to give the community real ownership. He listened to what we had to say today and assured he will and can get it done. ?? pic.twitter.com/Q9c5k1yMWf
